Topsy Turvy?
Comments (17)Sounds like a big waste and an unnecessary hassle. I just took a look at the strawberry topsy turvy online. That is one cheap-looking plastic gimmick! Can you even reuse it?...that is to say, if the plastic bag does not rip.? Is the plastic bag some sort of garbage-bag material? How much do they charge for this thing? Âdid I mention eyesore? If youÂre just going to end up sitting the topsy turvy on the ground anyway (or on a chair)...then you would fare much better with a traditional strawberry planter, pictured below. They are sturdier, very inexpensive, and can be reused. Or, if youÂd rather hang your strawberries, you could use one of many types of regular hanging baskets, also pictured below. They are inexpensive, sturdier, and reusable as well. My neighbor was also unsuccessful with her -tomato- topsy turvyÂs last year. So she tried the same thing ~ setting them upside-down on the ground...but they were already dying anyway. Zero tomatoes for her. She says she will definitely use regular containers this year... Bottom line: itÂs a great TV gimmick, with extremely successful advertising. "Consumption. This is the new national pastime. F**k baseball, it's consumption, the only true, lasting American value that's left . . . buying things . . . People spending money they don't have on things they don't need . . . So they can max out their credit cards and spend the rest of their lives paying 18 percent interest on something that cost $12.50. And they didn't like it when they got it home anyway. Not too bright, folks, not too f**kin' bright." ~George Carlin LOLOLOL Mr. Topsy Man is laughing all the way to the bank....See MoreBest automatic hose reel?
Comments (39)SO happy to find this thread- I am lugging 150 feet of hose around my back yard and am so tired of it. I have to wrap it around my body and lean into it like I am a draft animal! To add insult to injury my husband has a mental block about winding it up properly so that it doesn't knot up when I am dragging it back out- I swear most of the cursing from my back yard is over his winding up the hose. I am currently using old Lifetime guaranteed hoses that the company has now replaced three times for me- I really got my money's worth, lol. Which leads me to ask about the DAP company and how reliable we think their lifetime guarantee on the Pro series is? I know no one can make my mind up for me, but a total of $90 (hose is $70 plus two 9.95 shipping charges) is a lot of money for me even if I am getting two 75 footers for that price. Plus I need a set for the front yard! Just want to be sure I am not making a mistake and I don't live near enough anywhere to go have a feel for myself....See MoreEarthtainer ' I screwed up'!
Comments (5)You could also try using furniture sliders, similar to the attached link. I used a set of large ones yesterday actually to move one of my ETs. If you don't have those, you could try using old cardboard, but it has to have the 'smooth' surface on it (glossy kind of). Not just 'cardboard'. Not sure if that makes sense. I use them all the time, for moving big bookshelves and bookcases - just make sure the 'smooth' side is down. And definitely, because of weight of them, try and get help to do it. Good luck! :) Here is a link that might be useful: Example of furniture sliders...See MoreHave you bought products you've seen on TV?
Comments (28)If anybody gives that new Hurricane spin mop a try, post back as to how it worked for you (or didn't!). There has been an infomercial on it recently. I dislike probably ever mop I've bought -- the string mop, the mop that has strips of a felt-like microfiber (like the Wonder Mop, like Libman makes), the sponge mop (I can never get the replacement sponges in easily). I don't use Swiffers anymore, but I do use a Libman Freedom Soft Mop, with the cloths you pull off the mop head and toss into the washing machine.
