Uneven walls and quartz countertops

Hello! I am trying to figure out if this is an acceptable install of my countertops. I have learned since installation that my bathroom is considered “wall locked” and I have uneven walls. The gouge and the first picture with a gap are from the left side and the right side is where they cut the quartz short to make it fit. Majority of people are saying it’s an unacceptable job that needs to be redone. Any pros out there who can give me their thoughts? Thanks for any help.

Also, the countertop was cut short by 3/8”.

These guys are hack hillbillies and you can tell them I said so. Replace.

The backsplash will more than cover 3/8" . Most thin tiles are that by themselves. Thicker tiles can be 1/2" or more. Then the thinset is anothe 3/8" at least. Don't sweat it and leave it alone.

sc: Your cabinets must be installed level, plumb, and most importantly in this case, in a straight line, no matter what your wall (or floor) is doing. If you follow a wanky wall it will look great until you put the counters on and the drawer pulls bob and weave under the top. You don't want to sight down your cabinets and counters and see a change of plane. If you plan to have the front edge of the butcher block flush with the drawer fronts, that gives you 5/8" maximum scribe width. That should be plenty. Install color matched silicone between the top and wall. I'd mask that brick when I did.

Is the gap consistent front to back? That looks to be a snitch under 1/4" which while it could be together I do not think is unacceptable (especially if the wall is not straight and most are not). The caulk color is unacceptable and that you have the right to complain about. Just my .02.

Joseph! I have been trying to figure out how to get your response without directly messaging you! You are heaven sent! So how do I argue replacement? I would love your feedback regarding a bunch of smudges on my kitchen counters too! Should I post pictures here?

No pro here, just someone who has had counters fabricated in three kitchens. What did they use to measure and template the counters? Many people have uneven walls and that is usually accounted for and the counter constructed accordingly.

Kendrah, he created some sort of wooden template. I wasn’t home when he did the work, but my husband described some sort of wooden frame.

This had to be Installed at a high angle versus horizontal due to the door trim. If you insist on tighter remove the door trim and agree to repair the drywall etc after at your cost. Their caulk joint is laughable.

I was going to remark on the caulk. I try hard with caulk, and it isn’t easy, but that has to be a first timer’s job. How could anyone walk away from that??

@HALLET & Co. Thank you for the suggestion. I have no problem removing the trim and also happy to repair drywall in order to get a tighter fit. I will suggest this as an option when I meet with them. Thank you!

Andee, I know. I have had so many people react to the caulk job. I honestly don’t know how they walked away from a lot of things in this job. I have smear marks and hand prints all over from some sort of chemical.
