blank slate guest bedroom
Comments (103)sorry, didn't read all, but I would just move the bed over a foot!!! it would drive me crazy to have it a foot (18"??) off the wall for a foot of view! the left sided person would still enjoy it and the r side would just have to scooch over to see it-- wake up, love it and hop out of bed to the window seat to better enjoy it!! if I was staying in the room, I would probably take the liberty and move the bed over so that it sat fully on the wall myself! I would leave the brass alone, tho would be pretty shined up too! either looks good! love everything else!! what an awesome guest room!!!!!...See MoreWhich hopelessly trendy kitchen chair?
Comments (80)Oh, mtn I agree completely--- that's almost exactly what I said to our ID when he sent me to the tk collections site for kitchen chairs. Luckily my mother came up with 4 French ladderbacks and I filled in with parsons chairs at the ends. But I spent a good deal of time playing with the weaves and colors--- this was about four or five years ago at the very beginning of the trend. We ended up putting four bistro type chairs on our screened porch that are all weather aluminum but look remarkably like rattan, which I got as a close out from a furniture supply company for practically the cost of the shipping! And the ability to take a hosing and not lose your stomach for continued renovation seems to be a required trait in a homeowner :-)...See MoreJust starting...but I want to use these curtains!
Comments (18)What you want to avoid when mixing patterns is to get patterns on the same scale. So if your curtains are on, say, an 8 inch repeat, you'd want to pair it with a pattern that was either much bigger (like an 18 inch or 2 ft repeat), or a much smaller pattern (like an 1 inch or smaller), Oriental rugs often combine small elements into a larger pattern (like a central medallion with a border), and those could pair well with your curtains. I liked these with your existing choices, representing a variety of styles https://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Persian-Rugs-Tribal-Medallions-Beige-Multi-Colored-Area-Rug-710-x-106/12346379/product.html?refccid=OL46GJMCQ743DQSOLJFAXX4XMM&searchidx=52 https://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Preston-Blue-Agra-Rug-710-x-910/5906658/product.html?refccid=VYP7MHFENVYJDUSJA6W2DZN2NE&searchidx=43 https://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Sweet-Home-King-Collection-Isfahan-Oriental-Blue-Teal-Medallion-Area-Rug-710-x-910/12734185/product.html?refccid=HHPFSXRZSNWZBHCIZ7WU4EXHD4&searchidx=82 http://dashandalbert.annieselke.com/Rugs/Blue-Heron-Stripe-Woven-Cotton-Rug/p/RP41 https://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Nourison-Somerset-Beige-Area-Rug-79-x-1010/6136755/product.html?refccid=S6HBHMWQSIIKPAKM3WPFZNKABY&searchidx=102 https://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Safavieh-Evoke-Modern-Burst-Royal-Blue-Ivory-Rug-10-x-14/10979192/product.html?refccid=SRKDFBSAY55JDDKLGSXPSYWJVU&searchidx=111 Of course, even though these look like they will match based on the various pics and my not-so-great monitor, YMMV. ETA: Looking again, I think the striped rug is too informal compared to the curtains. Yet another thing to worry about when mixing patterns....See MoreHelp With Backsplash Please!
Comments (221)Thanks NewEnglandgal! Turned out so lovely and I love all of the wall colors. My issue will be cabinets will go all the way to ceilings and the crown will die into it from great room so I may be stuck with that trim color having to stay with the flow. Hmmm all things to consider. Thanks so much! Enjoy and hope you and yours have a wonderful holiday this Season in your new home! Blessings!...See Moremtnrdredux_gw
