Which color to coordinate with my luggage?
I shared in another thread that I received a carry on luggage for my birthday -- sister knew I was stalled on picking a brand/model so she got me what she loves (with the option to return it if I didnt like the brand, color or size).
So I now have the Away Bigger Carry On Flex (meaning it is expandable) in Clay Pink. I have two long weekend trips coming up and this will be perfect. I'll buy the Large Flex version for checking in on my two trips requiring a flight.

I know I want an MZ Wallace travel bag for laptop and other items that won't fit in my personal bag. They are light and washable and work well for me. I don't think I want black (it is hard for me to see inside) but it isnt completely off the table ... what do you think about the mushroom or magnet colors? I don't care that they don't match exactly but the goal is a pleasing coordination :).

10 days agolast modified: 10 days agoMagnet is on the left ... Mushroom on the right. Magnet is a gray-brown ... mushroom is (supposedly, I don't have anything in this color) a slightly pink taupe.
Which do you prefer? Or do you think I should find something else?

Comments (13)I have a northeast facing dining room that was wallpapered in blue damask for many years. That combined with cherry and mahogany furniture made the room seem very dark. So what to do, since I also did not want to replace all the furniture? 1. I painted the room--walls and trim--in B. Moore's Linen White. This is a very creamy warm white, in the yellow hue family. It's amazing how just that color brightens the space. 2. I replaced the dull formal Oriental rug with a light herringbone casual one. It's made of PET, which is recycled plastic. It's amazing how soft and pretty it is, it feels like cotton, but PET is easy to clean. You can find a lot of them on Annie Selke's website. 3. I selected a beautiful flowing floral pattern fabric for curtains and shades. This happy fabric in robin's egg blue, greens and reds brightens up the room and the style adds a lively dash of color without blocking any of the natural light. 4. I painted one of the wood pieces with chalk paint. This adds a bit of whimsy and lessens the formality of the brown furniture. Comments (9)I don't think the top rug is going to work with your floor AT ALL, at least if the colors I'm seeing are halfway true. The gold in the rug is just going to make the floor look purple. Comments (6)I think the gray looks fine, and I'm not even a fan on gray. You could stick with a tight blue and gray palette, or you could bring in a 3rd color, and really you could go in a lot of directions with that. I would suggest shopping for either comforter/duvet covers or rugs that incorporate the colors you have. Some of those will pull in additional colors, and you can see what you like. Comments (42)As I was leaving my house for a trip, the collapsible handle on my rolling carry-on luggage broke. Fortunately, we were traveling by car so I didn’t worry about it because I wouldn’t be rolling it around very far. At my destination, I shopped for luggage at Belk and TJMaxx. My main criteria was that it was lightweight, I didn’t care about the color or the brand. I ended up with a nice blue piece from TJM. Side story: Belk doesn’t have the prices on their luggage. You have to roll each one over to a scanner or download their app to use your phone to scan. I found that be mildly annoying. 10 days agoI have a few lighter colors in MZ Wallace and my sister has one of the older pale pinks in the exact style above-- she travels with it a fair amount and it is still looking great. It IS washable which helps, i think.
Mtn.. I agree, I need that sweater!And Rubyclaire, I love how you think-- that was exactly my thought, I need the magnet for fall and the mushroom for spring summer! I'd have to travel a bit more to justify that but I think that is my plan.
I was concerned that the magnet was too close to but not the black in the trim. I really don't want a black bag. Glad many of you think the magnet is fine too.
PS.. I also think I need a second crossbody sling in the mushroom color. It wasn't available when I got mine. :(
