Comments (2)Thanks for the lead, but I'm still not sure. I looked at 3 different photos of All Together and they all looked different! The one at C&T Iris patch looks like a bitone; the one at Dave's has similar color to mine but much more rounded shape; the one at DVIS has similar shape to mine, but seems to be a much truer lemony color --so who knows! None of them mention blooming season. I got this at an iris club sale. Comments (5)My broccoli plants are ready to go, but I think I'll pot them up again and hold them another 10-14 days. I just don't trust the cold nights...we're having too many of them still for me to feel comfortable putting broc in the ground, and I don't want to plant them and then have to cover them up every cold night. I think the long post on damping off (was a response for Tranger, I think) included broccoli buttonhead info at the end of it and that's probably the one Dorothy's referring to. I'll go find it and link it. I second Dorothy's blood meal recommendation (darn it, I knew I forgot to buy something at Home Depot yesterday, and it was the blood meal!). I also like to add composted cow manure to my future broccoli bed a week or two before I plant. They just love the nitrogen in it. Comments (14)Type K thermalcouple probe is made generally using nickel and chromium bi-metal. It is rust-proof and heat-proof. The problem mostly is not related to the probe. There is most likely internal calibration logic built in to maintain a +- 1 degree accuracy in temperature readings. The fact that you are getting a 1771 degree reading leads me to believe that there are two possible causes: 1. The LCD display has been damaged as I stated in my previous post. 2. There is moisture which leaks a small amount of current to the LCD causing it to display odd numbers. LCD requires extreme small amount of current to display. Hopefully it is not #1.
