Yikes! Having a numb finger for two weeks would freak me out. Glad it's gone! I will definitely get one of those doodads. Did you spray primer on it first? I remember now, we had beautiful cool Spring days and that's when I was working in the flowerbeds so much, and suddenly it got hot with high humidity and stayed that way until this week. I melt in humidity. I love the green you used, but I'm thinking it would be too dark for that corner of the porch. I'll probably look for ideas online.

Given that your furniture is not heavy, I wouldn't bother with cardboard cutouts but would just start moving things around. Starting with your "living room" furniture, if this were an indoor room you'd realize right away that you need a coffee table. I would put the sofa where you now have the love seat with its back about a foot from the wall. Put the love seat in an L shape with it's back to the white fence. Put the 2 chairs side by side, facing the house. Now you have a conversation area in a U shape, with the open part facing the grill and dining table. Add an indoor-outdoor rug which is big enough to go at least a foot under each seat. Add some color with the rug, and repeat the color with a few pillows. Bonus if you can find some flowers or flowering shrubs to repeat the color too. A rug under your dining area would be good too. For the path that goes from the gate to the patio, you may want to move the 2 stepping stones closest to the patio so that they touch the corner of the patio, not the middle. That will further reinforce the "conversation area" feeling. Same as indoors, the width should be about 2/3 of the width of the sofa. If you can find a piece of wall art that is suitable for outdoors (metal, driftwood) and hang it over the sofa, that would further reinforce the "room" feeling. A shabby chic style window like this would look great over your wicker sofa. If window glass makes it too heavy to hang, maybe replace with acrylic panels.
