4/17 Survivor and Amazing Race

The previews for tonight show Hunter hiding in a tree, spying on a conversation. Cool! Shades of Tony, who is my all-time favorite player. I think that Q and Tevin are showing their manipulative sides. Will they last much longer? And I liked Maria taking on Venus last week. Is Venus getting the proverbial "winner's cut"? and she looks just like Angelina Jolie, which may be another reason why I don't like her.

Amazing Race? I won't miss the cousins!

Q is so rigid, and also manipulative, with a simple game of hide and seek determining how he evaluates people. If they had sent him home, they could've begun to play their own game.

It's foolish to vote out Sifu. They're already much weaker than the other two teams. They need him or they'll be going to tribal council until the next merge. I'm glad Sean is gone. What a fake person, telling the new tribe how loyal he is right after he tried to vote out Kaleb. I like the new 90 minute format. Before, it was the reward challenge, a few minutes for camp scenes, the immunity challenge, and tribal council. It wasn't enough time to see their game strategies with their tribe members, which is a lot more interesting than the same old same old puzzle challenges.

There was a documentary on the new dig at Pompeii on PBS at 10pm., so I only watched a half hour of TAR. However, I was able to switch over to TAR just as Cesar and Ricky ran up to the mat. ha I think I saw Amber and Vinnie already at the final amongst the other past contestants. How did that happen? I must have missed them being eliminated at some point - last week?

@dedtired....David is a stuntman. He hasn't mentioned having any other skills. " finding a job shouldnt be too hard. " He needs to be making enough to be the sole provider for a family. Minimum wage jobs are what he's looking at with no other skills. At the gym I go to....he looks like a dozen other gym-rats....ALL VERY good looking....he's common around here. 🏋️‍♂️ I'd like to see him succeed.....on Survivor....he's a threat.

I’ve been an Amazing Race fan for a long time, but I just cannot get into this race. It is the people in it and their attitude and behavior for the most part. When I found out they were mostly from Big Brother and maybe some from Survivor, now i know why. They are getting better as some drop out and the ones left have realized it’s a serious race and requires attention to detail, some physical and mental skills and common sense and the ability to get along with and be nice to others at times.

I just think that A. Jolie is weird, so I don't take her seriously, and since Venus looks so much like her (yes, pretty), it's an association in my mind. I don't like her. She's got a few others on the island who don't seem to like her a lot, either. I don't think they dislike her for her beauty, but for her behavior, and Maria told her off.

For all I know, she'll probably win.

Im still confused with what was going on with Q.

Anyway, Tevin ( who i thought was named Kevin) was so irritating.

Tevin thought HE was running the game...then ...blind side! ALL that weird laughing @ Venus....and yet...she's still there....thinking she's running the show. I wonder what these players think when they watch the whole thing on TV...?

Re TAR: I cringe whenever Danny's Mom says, "I'll do it". I thought she was going to collapse during the race track challenge and I think he should have done the soccer challenge. But also I heard Danny say something about getting "her road blocks out of the way", maybe so he can do them as the race nears the end. I liked the team that came in last, can't really say I dislike any of the remaining teams.

I like pretty much all the TAR teams. I’m not a huge fan of Cesar & Ricky, who have had the lead 3 times now. They seem overly confident, and I don’t see them as all that capable above the others really. I also didn’t get why Danny’s Mom kept insisting she could do all the challenges either, when she didn’t seem suited for them. Maybe you’re correct, schoolhouse, and Danny is keeping his turn until the end. Not that I think he can do better at any of the physical challenges.

Danny and Mom have a relationship that borders on over-protective. Did anyone say if he is special needs? Remember the mother/son pair a few years ago where the son was deaf? But I think they were more independent. Different from the father/son last season, but the father was deaf, so I can't see the son being over protective.

Funny the nunber of people who like Venus, I can’t stand her. She was really po’ed at the end of the show. I can’t wait to hear what she had to say when they returned to camp.

I'm also surprised that TAR teams helping other teams is so acceptable this season, at least I see it more this time. I know it's game strategy but a little over the top to me.

No eating challenges yet.
