Comments (3)Lovely kitchen. Really special granite, it reminded me of one I saw up here in central FL called Lilly Pad. It looks wonderful. We love the induction cooktop, the 2 large burners up front are so useful & I end up using that timer all the time. You chose a great looking finish on cabs. You must be thrilled with results....See MoreCountertops that are not neutral? (black, browns, white)
Comments (21)I don't believe in getting bored with things I love, and I'm not a big fan of neutrals. We're months away from starting our remodel, but we've already purchased our granite slab (it was an orphan slab, and we've seen nothing else like it after looking at several yards). I'm just about to order the copper kitchen sink to go with it (you can see my little piece of copper in the picture along with the quarter sawn oak cabinet door)....See MoreHelp Choosing Flooring!
Comments (14)You guys are helping me so much!! Thanks for the link to all those kitchens - some with green countertops. The 12th pic down, that was the floor i had originally picked out - and i thought it was too busy and dark. I guess im a bit confused with the colors. I chose the light maple to keep the room light and also WARM - I originally wanted WHITE cabinets. The rest of my house is very southwest warm colors. So i wanted to go with warm kitchen colors. Then my husband found the granite and fell in love with it. While i think its warm too, its actually cool. So how do you mix the cool of the countertops - with the warm wood? I havent found many pics of gray floors with light wood cabinets..... Now i feel im getting away from that warm kitchen i was aiming at, bc of the countertops...... Im an artist, I understand hue and color......why is this stumping me? I think the cabinets are throwing me off. If they were white, of course the gray would go so well. Need to find more pics and im spending all my time on internet looking...... I really really love this kitchen of RICHs from a thread on garden web. My cabinets are a bit lighter than his, but he also has a green countertop....and i love his floors bc they are a mix of warm and cool colors. But i couldnt find this tile anywhere.. or anything like it. Comments (8)I would definitely do someting light. The countertops are very dark and the floor is too. The cabinets are probably medium but I like a kitchen that has some variety of tones - not all dark, not all white/neutral monochromatic. Personally, it would depress me to have something as dark as the waterglass ocean for a BS and it would take away from that unique granite. Great idea to wait until the slabs are installed and after that you can post pictures and get better input. (Posting pictures isn't hard but it helps if they are already at a site like flickr, picasa, etc - not just the suppliers website.)...See Moredani_m08
