A couple of quick thoughts. 1. Unless the contractor wants to install something such as a shower door (that requires making holes in the curb) tomorrow, the installation of the curb/threshold certainly can wait. It just gets glued in place and then caulked. So unless tomorrow is the last day, it shouldn't throw the work flow off. 2. Like KathyNY76, our fabricator also was able to turn around the work in 1 day. That was for a 65" curb/threshold and a 45" long top for the pony wall with very simple edges. (Our tile guy did the installation. He asked that the fabricator make the curb two inches longer; he cut it to the final size). 3. It may be a matter of semantics and/or regional differences, but here in New England it's the fabricators who have the remnants and not the stone yards. Still requires a bit of looking, though. You should be able to find a couple of options that coordinate with your tile and the look and feel of the room.

This is a huge nine foot wide by nine foot high door. It has three, three foot sections, all mulled together, with the operative section/door in the middle. Only the LCC pan, the metal part of the pan, that shows inside the house, is ice cold. Immediately below the corner of this metal pan, i can see the subfloor is wet, for about 1/2 inch, running along the entire 9 feet of the pan (but this only occurs when it's 40 degrees outside, or colder. The colder it is outside, the bigger the problem). I also learned that the installer should only run a thin bead of silicone inside the very same corner, alluded to above. This prevents water from getting in, under the door, into the house. But my installer spread the silicone on the pan, the entire middle of the nine foot door, maybe one inch wide, which is bad. This is bad because the water that forms from condensation, cannot flow back outside, and so the wooden base of my door is sitting in a wet pan. I also know that he did not set the door on 1/16th inch "shims", so the aluminum on the outside of the door is touching the LCC metal pan. This causes more condensation. Monday, I put the last trim piece, outside, along the entire nine feet, along the bottom of the door, hoping that this would help, but it is snowing today, and the condensation has returned on the inside sub-floor. So this did not help. Maybe i should re-install the doors with plastic pre-purchased pans. But i would prefer to just assume the problem will go away. This would be a huge project. The house is humid inside because of drywall, tiling, etc. The doors are Andersen E series (previously the "Eagle" company). I would be so grateful for advice, or for some "expert" who i could turn to.

Kind of late in getting back to everyone... Jerzeygirl - thanks for the photo of your shower. Did you use white grout? I think the metal look tile would be too modern for my project. I love your marble sill. Was that a remnant? I'm looking to use something like that in my shower cubby. The Quartzite I picked out for my counter/curb is 1 1/4" which seems too thick for this purpose. Sloyder - I like your idea of a glass tile liner. Will also check out a matching marble liner option. I'm going to try and attach a picture of my accent tile. Linelle - Thanks for the pic! You are right on. The RS is very reasonable! Their rope tile is pretty but sticks out kind of far for my narrow bathroom. Your tile guy did a great job. Do you know what color/brand of grout was used? As for the quarter round, I had that one picked out and my contractor said it would look unfinished because it would be at eye level looking down at the side of it. My field tile would not stick out as far as yours. Cabot & Rowe - I will definitely check Daltile's website for other options. Joseph - your bathroom is amazing! Are those Graff faucets? I'm considering Graff Topaz wall mount for my bathroom. Also, how deep is your vanity? I'm struggling to figure out what size spout on the wall mount faucet is needed for my 11" deep Under-mount sink on an 18" deep vanity. Why is this so complicated?? This is my accent tile - Snow Stria with Glass from the Tile Shop. Border of 4 or 5 rows.

"Joseph, do you know if any kind of door or curtain is planned for that shower?" I don't know, but I don't think so. The shower is big enough that neither may be necessary. "How wide is the top of the curb? It looks nice, but a bit wide for stepping over." It's around 7" wide. I didn't design the shower, I just rebuilt what was there.
