Vanity Pendants for bathroom?
Comments (1)I just hung two pendants over my 39" vanity. At first I was thinking it would look odd, but I really like it now. I chose pendants that were about 7" in diameter - not real big ones. I think it's sortof an updated look. I really didn't want to go the traditional over the mirror vanity light....See MoreVanity pendant lighting - how far from wall? Recessed lights OK, too?
Comments (1)I'm not a fan of pendants dangling over a vanity area, it would be a last resort for me. Recessed, in combination with wall sconces works well. The vanity lighting need not be the only lighting in the bath, either. Recessed in the middle space of a bath, wall sconces at the roughly "head" level of 66 inches off the floor at the vanity can work well too. .........or even sconces above when it is the only option. The "rules" are lighting specs, space, style and personal need dependent. It is difficult to advise you minus a bath plan, or even a photo....See MoreLocation for Vanity Pendants Lights
Comments (4)The mirrow will have it's own light, like the picture below: I have read that pendent lights should be at eye level to avoid shadows, however I'm not sure how far out from the wall they shoud be. Also I have to consider I will have a medicine cabinet and I don't want the lights to be on the way every time I used it. I'm hoping it would look something like this: Or this one but imagine a full mirrow...See MoreBathroom pendant lighting
Comments (9)Believe me, I've been keeping an eye out at the store, and yes there ARE others in my area. It's almost a haven for thrift stores where I live. Time becomes an issue because although we are "retired" I still work and my husband is not in great health, so I do all the work at home as well. I'm also keeping my eyes open for things that could be repurposed here at the store. We (staff) get 50% off the labelled price, so things cost me next to nothing. For instance, I needed an extra pair of dining chairs. I'm in the process of "refinishing" and recovering them, I already had the material. I got the pair for $7. Can't beat that! The wall tile is staying. It is also in good shape and I actually kind of like the "cafe au lait" color - just the dark brown bugs me and it would be a bit tedious to just paint over the brown tiles on the floor :-). 'Course, I could cut a sponge down to the exact size and just dab on the paint - we'd use a lot less paint that way. Hmmm. Food for thought....See Morewdccruise
