Question on raised wooden planters

Lynn Nevins
last month

Hi all. I've never used a raised wooden planter, but have a few questions. I assume the major advantage to using a raised planter is that you don't have to bend over, when working with the planter. But are there other advantages I'm not thinking of?

Are there any downsides? And, in the case of a teak planter, can I assume that it will indeed really be weatherproof...that the wood will hold up to rain, possible snow, sun, and with all the watering that the plants inside the planter, will receive?

Aside from the nice 'look' of wood, I'm thinking that maybe it would be better to go with a raised PLASTIC planter.

Thanks!
