Boy/Girl mixed Nursery help!
Comments (14)have you checked out HGTV's Rate my space. I was looking on there last night and saw some very beautiful kids rooms/nursery's. One room (for boys, but it could be unisex!) RED bedding, with accents of blue, cream, brown, etc. The bedding was PB with ivory looking stars on it. Didn't scream boy to me. Very cute! Green walls. :o) Saw another boy nursery on there that had caramel apple colored walls. Crib was cream with glaze. Bedding was pale blue toile. So very cute. I've seen that exact toile fabric in pink as well. So you could paint the room the caramel brown, do her bed in the pink fabric, and his in the blue. Wow, would that be cute. Then do their accessory pillows, etc. in creams, ivorys, chocolate. It's much cuter IRL than it sounds. LOL! If you like shabby chic, you could always just do various shades of vanilla in the room. If your children won't be playing in their room (ie: markers and messes) than creams/ivory's/whites would be sooo pretty. :o) Can't wait to see what you do. Congrat's on expecting!!...See Moretransitioning to big girl room
Comments (11)Thanks for the replies!!! LuAnn, I agree with you that a girl's room can be any color. My daughter's room is a tan/khaki color. We accessorize with color. gmp3, We don't need to use the room as a guest room. It is strictly her bedroom. It is not very big (I can get measurements later); actually, it is quite small. There are bookcases (expresso) in there but I am not married to them. I purchased a cute pink nightstand at HomeGoods a few weeks ago. I plan on having a twin bed, bookcase, and a nightstand in the room. She will also get a lil table with 2 chairs. Fun2behere, I have seen those wall decals and just went to Land of Nod to see if they still had the ones that looked like iron wrought and they don't. I am so sad!!! That is such a good idea. I am going with the idea of just putting the bed up and getting the headboard/footboard later. I was worried that the mattress would slide around on box springs or the rails wouldn't be strong enough to support but I need to get over that.....it is time to get my precious daughter out of my room :)...See MoreHelp with finishing touches on a toddler's room!
Comments (10)For wall decor, think of decals. Inexpensive and easy to install and take off (they might leave a faint imprint on the wall paint when removed). Choose a motif your daughter enjoys. It can be changed with her whims every few years. You can also get some large inexpensive canvas art to hang. Etsy will have loads of these options. You can have some of your own pictures blown up and printed on canvas. The square print in your mockup is the window covering? You can take your cue from that for the wall colour. Perhaps match the neutral background colour? Your chair looks to be a cool grey on my monitor while the rug and dresser are a warm cream. They look fine together on my screen but in person, you might appreciate the mix less. Really depends on you (and the light in the room). Some people don't mind pairing cool and warm colours. Pale pink, grey or white bedding would be very pretty. Etsy - Woodland animals...See MoreTwin girl nursery ideas!!
Comments (7)Oh what fun and endless possibilities! Congratulations as well! For the windows...I would do darkening ones floor to ceiling for the end. You can put a mould over them to match the other windiws without curtains. You could dona standard but ornate moulding or a couple of these crowns together, depending on the look you want. A 6x9 or 5x7 rug maybe since 8x10 creates issues with your door. A nice rocker and lots of fun things you can do with the walls and dresser. I will post some options for you in a few posts....See MoreRelated Professionals
