Concrete vs Granite pavers vs Concrete Pavers

M Y
last month

We are building a new custom in Arizona. We are importing granite tiles and marble for indoor flooring and granite countertops. We are also thinking if we should get granite pavers for our driveway and patio.

The builder's contract gives a poured concrete driveway and patio. Alternatively, we can do concrete pavers. Now we are thinking if we should get granite pavers. It will be more expensive, but we are still considering it.

Our builder suggests that we get at least 5cm thick granite pavers. Those pavers will be too heavy as they exceed the weight limits for the shipping container. The granite supplier says that most of their customers order 4cm thick pavers. Would 4cm think granite pavers be good enough for driveways where cars drive on it?

We could instead get 5cm thick pavers for the driveway and 3 cm thick pavers for the patios where it will be only pedestrian traffic. Would 3cm be too thin for a patio paver?

What do you suggest?

Remain with poured concrete.
Go with concrete pavers
4 cm thick granite pavers for driveway and patio
5cm thick granite pavers for driveway and 3cm thick granite pavers for patio.
