Front Exterior of Split Level Needs Help!
Comments (8)If you are just going to be putting the house on the market, then I would be very cautious about making any significant changes to the exterior. I can pretty much guarantee that what you think are improvements and updates will not be the same as the potential new owners have in mind and they will rip it all out to make it their own. And unless you are prepared to put in a fully designed and professionally installed landscape, you are not going to realize any sort of decent return on your investment. IOW, the money you put in to redoing the exterior you will not realize back as an increased sale price. Focus your attention on the interior. The best and least expensive route is just a thorough clean up of all the outside areas - mowing, edging, weeding, any pruning requirements and fresh layer of mulch (non-dyed mulch!!) Everything must look very clean and tidy and well-maintained. You can warm things up a bit and make it look more welcoming and appealing with a couple of seasonally planted containers on the porch and steps, a new door mat and some decor on the porch - a couple of chairs or bench and side table, a small area rug and maybe some art piece or something to hang off that broad expanse of empty siding. Make it look used, not forgotten....See Moresplit level home exterior inspiration
Comments (19)Hi thank you all for the wonder replies. I’ll make sure to leave great reviews! I’m located on the east coast. New Jersey right near Philadelphia. My home was built in the 60s. First time home owner I’m cash flowing everything and finding out cost as I go. So far windows were priority because of drafts and also found out the windowsills have lead paint. But yes loving the look of the Classico lime wash. I decided to keep the capping white since I can only afford fixing windows on the right side of my home at the moment( since that’s where bedrooms are and living area). I know it’s a work in progress and want to strive for a look that is updated and won’t look dated to quickly ❣️...See MoreWould white exterior/trim be pleasing on my split level?

Comments (1)I think a nice dark gray for siding there is lots of gray in that brick. IMO gutters are not design elements so best when the match the roof or the siding . I think I would do the window trim the same dark gray. Then go to work on the landscaping ....See Morerinked
