Paint Design Dilemma Exterior

Painting Exterior Home...HELP

Hi! We are working on painting the exterior of our home. We have a combo of stucco and siding and were told it would be best to choose two different colors for the body and a color for the trim. We have been leaning towards SW Gauntlet Gray for the siding but have no clue what color to pain the stucco. We like SW Dovetail, but were told by the painters it does not have enough contrast. I don't want the house to look too dark and foreboding...or busy. Any help is appreciated!

Our house is Guantlet Gray for the body and Dovetail for the finished 24 inch eves and I would tend to agree with your painters. I love both colors but the Dovetail is just a bit too dark to show a real contrast if that is what you are looking for. Of courser, being the eves they will appear darker but I would have gone a shade or two lighter. We are about to repaint the body of the house and we are sticking with the Guantlet Grey.

I am new to this forum, so "hello." I know it has been many months since you posted "HELP" regarding painting MH walls and am curious about the results. I have the kid-friendly wallboard and absolutely nothing will stick to it. I have tried several coats of Kiltz primer followed by several coats of latex paint, and it still peels off with the scratch of a fingernail. I have also tried using prepasted wallpaper in another room and it too will peel right off. I just try not to touch my walls at all cost, but would really like to find a process that works. We have installed laminate flooring in one of our bedrooms and the ugly standard wallboard glares at you now. I am open to any suggestions.

I think a light grey would look very smart - white trim. Be sure to paint the garage door the same color as the house to help it disappear.

Your shutters are the wrong shape for your windows. They are more appropriate for curve topped windows. Trade them out for appropriate sized and shaped shutters. Also, remove them from the largest window. They are inappropriate there. I like your front door. Just paint the side lites white. They are part of the frame, not the door. Much can be gained from having a long term landscaping plan for your front yard. And...consider removing the curved inserts from your garage door and replace them with squared off inserts. And, perhaps, some ornamental ironwork on the doors, themselves. Your home has good bones! It will be lovely....
