What color/style curtain and rod for this guest bedroom?
Comments (25)Scarlett, I'm sure you can paint the trim. If laminate can be painted, surely anything can be painted. It will take prep work to get the paint to adhere, but I'll bet it can be done. Nevertheless, if you are going to put up panels, so little of the frame will show, that I doubt it would be worth the trouble to paint. Here is my niece's dorm room. Sister mixed coral, turquoise and sage green with it - successfully, I think. Out of sight, are the curtains. She used white Cameron cotton curtains from PB, which are currently one sale if you are interested. (ignore ugly throw. It is Niece's "blankie". Not stylish, but it gives her comfort away from home) Here is a link that might be useful: Cameron curtain...See MoreMaster bedroom rug and curtain help
Comments (25)I see something more like this if you are going the tradition route, just enough blue to compliment the space without looking contrived. Finishing touches as the rug are important to harmonize and complete the space. I also would have only one nightstand to the left. Do you need the lamp as you have sconces over the bed? If you need more lighting I would like to see otherperspectives for balance in your space....See Morebedroom curtain color
Comments (13)Your current blinds are visually heavy and I think the curtain configurations will look very different with the lighter shades. The main issue, as graywings mentioned, is going to be the return space for the hardware and the curtains. I still think tan curtains will look best with tan cellular shades, warm wood trim and tan walls. As I mentioned, the OP can add tan and grey pillows and other accessories to tie the bedding to the wall color and curtains. That being said, it's really hard to discern undertone from poorly lit camera pictures. Perhaps you can order the grey and tan versions of your curtain and see which you like best. Edited to add - I wouldn't choose the curtains until you install the new shades....See Morewood blinds with no curtains or fabric
Comments (23)I agree with the white trim idea first and foremost, but also understand the pain in the arse factor about painting them. There are a lot of dark finishes in there...the bench, the corner cabinet, the fireplace, the piano, the picture frames, etc. (I get that the folding table is temporary), and I think the room could use some texture and/or a little pattern to give the room some interest. Plants, some valances (nothing too frilly). It's kind of...generic? Everything is smooth and either black/dark brown or beige-y. What are you planning to do for a sofa and chairs, end tables, etc. in terms of color and the styles? I love Sea Salt, btw......See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
