I'd have roller shades with a box valance . This is a solar shade, but you could get something opaque if you need light control. And you could do an inside mount, but you will lose a little of the window space. Not fussy or obtrusive.

Also I'd replace the little pendant with a larger semi-flush mount .

IMO first settle on some nice bedding with a bit of color maybe then on thoses windows I woulddo roman shades or just plain old roller shades in a color that works with the new bedding.

Thanks, we're likely to put some form of navy blue and perhaps patterned hrow over the bottom half of the bed and go for a more mod century antique brass semi flush light fixture.

With the blinds we haven't been able to find a manufacturer that can actually make one as wide as the window so it would need to be in two or four sections on the biggest window.

It's interesting that no-one has mentioned curtains thus far as that had been our initial preference.

My first thought was curtains. However, because there is no wall space on the sides of the long window, they would stack inside the window space when opened and cover it up.

I'd get three cellular shades that are mounted to the upper part of the inside of the window, not to the sides. Their rails and hardware require less space and any other kind of window treatment. So a color as close to the wall color as possible. (Dealing with this now in a guest room with odd windows and walls too.)

Really love the mod look you have going on in your space. There is something kind of odd and cool to me about the current ceiling fixture. I feel like I'm in a European hostel from a bygone era. Not sure if that is the look you are going for but I think it's cool and makes sense with what seems like a low-ish ceiling in a garden level bedroom. Lovely herringbone floors.

Haha, thanks (I think?!). We quite like trying to create our own spaces out of different influences so you'll see some post modernism, mid-century, scandi, Paris and even Bawa but are most definitely caught up in all the romanticism of the past 😁

The room is actually on the first floor but does over look out front garden so privacy is very much necessary.

Horizons gives you great options for blackout or room darkening and cordless or even remote operated shades in many many textures.

Will visually warm the space , while needing nothing added to feel very finished.

Keep them neutral enough to last a very very long time, and through any changes to decor in bedding, paint, rug etc.

Love the woven wood blinds idea, really balances the space with divine warmth :)
