Quartz backsplash around windows?

I would love feedback on my kitchen remodel. I have decided to use the same quartz countertop for my backsplash. I have two windows at the end of a wall - please see the current state as well a drawing of the cabinets. A few questions:
(1) Should I end the backsplash at the bottom of the upper cabinets, or take it to the end of the wall and around the windows?
(2) if I take it to the entire wall - should I wrap the quartz in the window sill as well, or just to the edge of the window and then add a frame or casing to give some depth?
(3) and if I wrap the quartz around the windows - do I forego any window covering / curtain? I'm having a hard time finding pictures so I can't quite visualize what window covering, if any, I should consider.

Make sure the design accounts for spacing/access in case the window needs to be repaired or replaced. You don't want to have to remove the backsplash to do that.

luckily the tile I fell in love with had a moulding piece to match! We used it to surround the opening. the inside ledge area is just the window casing (and painted white like the rest of our casings and trim in the house). here's a couple of pics of it being installed (the best close up shot I have right now on my computer) and a view from the family room. HTH!

didn't have time to read all the answers. I have no backsplash and have never regretted it...been over 6 yrs. It is painted with BM matte...which has ceramic in it. It is as beautiful now as it was when first painted. I love the fact that I can showcase other things ...art etc in my kitchen and no competition. Also if I ever want to change it is as quick as a paint brush...expense is minimal..paint only ! All in all I think it is serene as you point out . Here is one pick. Since I have a lot of high heat cooking in my kitchen..built in deep fat fryer as well as gas cook top I can definitely speak to the longevity of paint only. c ( more at this album )

I'm one of the people that hates to see tile jut out beyond the edge of a wall cabinet. I end tile in line with the wall cabinet and not the countertop. It would depend upon the tile. Given the size of the space, I would say not to carry it up around the window unless it is a mosaic type tile.

I had my contractor put the same Corian I was using for my countertop, on the window sill as well. I wanted to be able to put plants in my window without ruining the wood window sill. It's proven to have been an excellent choice nearly 33 years ago!

I wouldn't want quartz as a backsplash behind a gas range, because there is a potential for scorching. I would just tile the area under the cabinets and under-hood tile. Window treatments are a personal preference, but I wouldn't use any if I didn't need privacy or sun control and even then I would prefer to have a shade.

Concur with theresa21- I would not do quartz behind a range because of the potential scorching. Would also not do quartz trim around windows, but would do wood trim in a style compatible with that of your home.
