Kitchen Remodel design dilemma - how best to extend kitchen?

We are planning to extend existing kitchen wall of cabinets to the dining area as well.

We have 11’ 1” wall space next to existing kitchen cabinets ending to end of dining wall. Around 41” from existing cabinets ending to the dining area wall window where we want to add another set of upper and lower cabinets without blocking light from the window. We want to leave as much space as possible before the window.

So we are thinking of adding another set of upper and lower cabinets with same 24” depth as existing kitchen counter and then add either 12" or 15" depth base cabinets in the dining area side as shown in mock up.

  1. How to make this change in counter depth from 24” to 12” look good?

  2. Another dilemma is should we prioritize balancing Cabinets length on either side of the hood or keep the balance on either side of the window in dining area?

Please suggest any other optimized usage of space here? Any help is appreciated.
