TV couch layout

Hi! Im having trouble laying out my living room which has a huge window, a fireplace and 2 entry ways

the space is about 15ft x 11ft

constraints:

1. I dont want to place the TV above the fireplace since it wont be at eye level

2. I dont want the fireplace to be blocked by a couch

3. i want seating for at least 6 people

4. Ideally i want majority of the seating to provide a direct view to the TV (I.e i dont want people having to turn their heads)

so what are my options?

Seating for five, the couch and two swivel chairs, or a different room for the television.

If you cannot find another option for the tv. Consider putting the tv over the fireplace on a pull down arm, so that you can view it at eye level when in use.

Their current lay out block traffic flow. I would much rather go with a love seat and a few comfy chairs. How many in your family. That is how many seats you need. The rest is over kill and does anyone actually FILL a huge sectional or do three people use it? I am just not a fan. As for the TV placement, most want a visual of both the fireplace and the TV so your plan seems to be a decent option. The built in would be worth looking at...It is ironic how often the MOSTLY unused fireplaces everyone desires really messes with furniture arranging. Your new floors are to die for. This gray fad confuses me. Gray is cold,like stainless. Your kitchen and flooring are so warm and rich looking. Half your new space is painted warm the other cool... Which colors will you embrace?

I think the sectional is just too bulky for the room.. would it be that bad to leave the TV over the fireplace? what are the actual room dimensions? If you hang the tv on the short wall you need to have a way to watch without straining your neck.. what is the width of the room from fireplace (with the hearth) to the wall? option 1 - get rid of the sectional (yes it is comfy but bulky) and put a sofa facing fireplace, get 2 swivel chairs (recliners or not) to either face the tv on short wall or swing around and face the 'people' sitting on the sofa and a narrow ottoman for additional seating.. sketch the room on grid paper with as exact dimensions as you can.. option 2 - leave the TV above the fireplace but i would still replace the sectional with a sofa and chairs so you have more walk through space and the ability to move the chairs if you need to.

IMO a sectional in your space is the wrong choice. I actually love the sofa and the 2 chairs you have in that space. Setionals are IMO the most expensive way to get the most uncomfortable seats. Arm rests = comfort and a sectional at best has 2 no matter how many seats . So everyone else is sitting just like they do on the middle seat on a sofa the seat no one wants.

TV over one of the built ins (probably the right side). Use a swivel arm. Sofa and loveseat, sofa and two chairs or a sectional if this is an informal room for TV viewing with the whole family.

As this room appears, where else would you put the tv if not above the fireplace?

Swivel arm is a good idea. Hadn’t thought about that.

Would putting the TV in front of the window make sense? With a sofa that’s halfway between the TV and the entry into the dining room?

No TV blocking the window.

A sofa and three swivel chairs will give you seating for 6. Slightly smaller sofa on the long wall, two swivel chairs under the window, and one between the sofa and the fireplace. How big is the tv? Is there room to put it above one of the bookcases on an arm, as suggested above?

Thank you everyone for the suggestions. The TV is too big to fit above the bookcase so I’ve decided to put it on a pull down arm above the fireplace.

For the seating, I’m gonna go with a sofa and a loveseat and a chair in one of the corners
