High Country Gardens sale
Comments (8)My order from their recent sale came a day earlier than the expected ship date. I ordered from their end of season sale last year, and received the same sized plants. I honestly thought it was a mistake then, or that they had nothing but odds and ends left so late in the season. I couldn`t figure out why they had such a good reputation. BUT, they all had a lot of healthy, if a bit potbound, roots. And they all came back and bloomed this year. Thought I'd try their spring sale this year, thinking the plants might be bigger, but same general size. Again, lots of healthy roots and I'm now sure they'll all do fine. In their defense, I found a video explaining their plant sizes. To them, "a big, bushy plant is not necessarily the indicator of a healthy plant." Just wanted to post my experience with them. I've linked the video below. Nutmeg Here is a link that might be useful: High Country Gardens...See MoreHigh Country Gardens Sale!!
Comments (18)They had great plants I had not seen elsewhere. And an order over 100 got free shipping. It priced out to about 5.75 a plant, which is what used to be charged for the small pots. Alas, smaller pots are much less available. Someone told me the growers and retailers are going for bigger pots because the plants are easier to keep alive for the retailer and gardener. I got some interesting plants I've been reading about. Fragrant currant, which supposedly has a heavenly clove scent; a lower sumac but different than low-grow; e. ARt's Pride, some unusual shade loving woodland lilies; and two honeysuckles I've never seen for sale in a nursery. But then I don't get to half as many nurseries as some people I know. I do not hold this against hcg, but getting an order through the website was impossible.Literally, I tried 4 times and it rejected a part of the payment information. My first attempt to order on the telephone was very annoying. The prices were not coming up as sale prices and there was nothing the poor 'order taker' could do. Then she told me there was a problem because it was being shipped to zone 6. Finally customer service put the order through in the daytime. Then, someone reported me at work for doing personal business and I got talked to by my supervisor. I was being bad, I know, but how I hate tattletales in the workplace!I would never report someone about that unless it became chronic and was abusing trust. But I'm not letting that spoil my anticipation of the order. Or thinking about what the plants will look like in a year. Marie...See MoreHigh Country Gardens 20% off sale

Comments (39)Patty or anyone else. Do you happen to know when they will be back from vacation? I got a gift certificate, but had trouble using it, so he's going to put my order in for me. I asked him to write me a email to let me know when he got it done, mostly so my mind would be eased and I would know that I got my roses. This was around Dec. 27th or so. I have tried calling the last couple of days with no luck, so I figure they haven't made it back yet. I was wanting to add one if it was going to be one they put back in stock and ask a question. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone knew when they were planning on coming back from vacation. I wish I could afford one as long, lol...See Moreberrypiez6b
