If you're like me and have a drawer full of old, ho-hum towels with no fun patterns or colors to speak of, maybe it's time to treat yourself to something that gets you as excited for summer as the sound of the Mr. Softee truck. There are so many varieties of beach towels these days — cotton, linen, Turkish hammam. And a pretty patterned towel makes it easy to spot your place on the sand from afar. Cool blue stripes create an ombré effect on this towel. Sure, striped towels are common and you can find them everywhere, but not every striped towel gets the colors just right.
This pattern feels iconic Jonathan Adler to me. And the yellow colorway is perfect for summer: happy, sunny and a little retro with avocado greens and browns.

Who knew you could find beach towels with grown-up style at PBteen? This mosaic patterned towel has a warm rainbow ombré colorway that I love.
This soft striped towel is made of Irish linen with a sweet color palette that includes mint green, salmon pink and lemon yellow. Irish linen does not come cheap, but I imagine it must feel lovely to lie on. Plus, it's lightweight for travel.

This reversible patterned towel is so rad — I get pulled into the graphic pattern of the stars.

For something more traditional and chic, this French terry towel has a tiled look inspired by Corsica. It's a little fanciful for my taste, but the serene blue colorway spells vacation.
Jonathan Adler knows how to do pattern. This blue beach towel features a chic and modern twist on a fish and crab pattern.
This yarn-dyed cotton beach towel draws its colors from South America. And because it's from Pottery Barn, you can get it monogrammed to make it easy to identify in the masses. I like the cabana style of the vibrant stripes.
