Looks fine in a bedroom setting.
It would look much better in an office.

Looking for a new light fixture for breakfast room -can you help?
Comments (3)Thanks for your replies. I'm going to have to find a picture because the ceiling configuration is impossible to describe with words. Basically the division between ceiling and open-two-second-floor is smack in the middle of the table, where you'd want the junction box to be (and where it can't possibly be, because there's a beam there.) And the ceiling slope runs perpendicular to the table, not paralell. So a bar pendant thing might work but only if I "dangle" the one end out into the empty space - I thought about having a carpenter build some kind of wooden box that I could hang pendants from, but I think it would be better to just get an oval shaped chandelier. I'm going to look for a pic as soon as I get back from dropping my dd off at camp. If I can't find one, I'll dig otu the camper and take a new one....See MoreI'm loving these colors! Comments (15)birdlover6--I just always thought neutrals were boring. Now I see them as tranquil, and as great backdrops for colorful furniture, paintings, etc. Also I moved from an old house with lots of character to a new one. I had it painted before we moved in (big mistake--I should have waited, even though it's more of a hassle) and I guess I thought bright colors would give it personality. I do like some of the colors. A small study is apple green with white molding and built-in bookcases. My bedroom is C2 silk which is a gorgeous blue grey and my bathroom is C2 Mistral a deep greyish purple, and another bedroom is aquarium, a gorgeous C2 green. I wouldn't change any of those rooms. But living room, dining room, foyer, kitchen, and maybe family room (currently yellow) could use a beautiful gray palette....See MoreTrying to mix marbles and I think I'm losing mine
Comments (61)I think the pencil liner could be just the thing to cover your gap and allow you to do something else later if you choose to. Just a little piece of trim, and you can buy a few a see how that looks to you. I just had my outlets moved up to avoid a listello, and while I am glad I didn't cut the lines of the listello having the outlets a little lower was nicer for access and fewer cords draping around (on the coffee pot and grinder, which stay plugged in for the most part). There may be a limit to how far they can be dropped due to framing issues, but it may not be a big issue to lower them if you choose to do that. I love how Rhome picked out that issue with tiling that wall: Snuggling the outlets into the tile will solve a big part of the visual issues any tile on that wall that is lower than the outlet will have.. Your sunflower tile is amazing, and has some interesting properties to my eye: I think the tiny tiles mosaic looks great with it when the triangle is up on the sunflower, and I don't like the mix of the two mosaics with the triangles to the side/square tile on top. I just keep looking at it because it is sort of fascinating to me. I think it is unlikely that you will tire of the Ming green hint of color, but if you have any question about that I would stick with the Thassos/whiter marble. I am guessing that the bit of color softens the look in your kitchen and is so perfect with the color of your walls right now that people find the combo very soothing. But I do think you would be happy with either. And it may be that the orientation of the sample has influenced which "color" people like. Just my two cents. I think you will love either for a long time. And nothing will happen with your drywall in the short term, so if you need some time to live with it just on the stove wall I would take that time and not fret....See MoreBacksplash Help ( I hope Beth H chimes in because I'm a fan)
Comments (7)hi kelsey, you seem to have some higher end tile samples there, so I assume you have a decent budget? while I ike the glass in the softer blues/greens, just understand that will impart a very "cold' look to the kitchen. if you were at the beach, it would be fine. can you take a pic from straight on that shows cabs/countertop, and possibly floor in one shot? with good, bright light? Tilebar has the Cadenza line in Tidewater. you still get your color but it's not icy they have other colors, like Thunder. it's a cooler blue/green tone on a white background. it would still work w/your teal wall, but not be overly in your face. Portmore is very saturated and the variation is great I actually like this Portmore gray. and I like this layout. or a vertical stack. but I'd have to see this w/your flooring Like this layout. is this too light for you? Nabi Arctic blue? Byzantinne Alice it's a greenish gray. London White (all of these listed are at Tilebar. grab some samples) I've seen this installed and it's very subtle, but pretty. do you like something like this? but in a diff shade? look at Mercury Mosaics. i'll wait for some better pics...See Morenicole___
