Caution: Dungeon Pics! Vote on paint color please
Comments (27)jlc LOVE the colors If you have occasional moisture, I would rec remedying the source before putting anything down - I know & have lived to regret it - 2 carpets & one expensive piece of high end Armstrong flooring later. The rolled flooring will trap the moisture underneath & grow mold - I pulled mine up and out several times w/water damage, cleaned w/bleach & put it back. It was such a beast to take up as it is so large & difficult to manage. 1st place to ck is gutters, downspouts, leaders all pitched away from house - landscaping/gardens should be pitched also for run off away from foundation - if its not those it could be a high water table, which can be remedied w/sump pump If you clean the floor really well with TSP (tri sodium phosphate) rinse, rinse, rinse - then you could put several coats of cement paint - and keep ckn'g on the moisture before committing to another type of flooring. I just put the peel/press tiles down on my utility side of my basement - did it myself & they are holding this pic is old & shows the nice armstrong flooring...See MoreRenovating a dungeon shower
Comments (3)Are the areas near or surrounding basement bathroom somewhat finished off? I agree that doing a full bath remodel might be iffy if one has to walk thru a dungeon to get to the bathroom. If the rest of the basement is not at least partially finished I would concentrate on removing anything moulding and bringing electric and plumbing up to code to pass home inspections. Is there a toilet and sink? It's also possible you would need some type of ventilation fan. Just doing those few things could add up. I would get someone in for advise who is familiar with codes/remodeling in your area first before doing anything. It will help you in knowing what you might "have to do" first....See MoreCorner dungeon needs assistance
Comments (13)Really sorry, because I know how much work that water feature was, but it needs to go. Some laurels will grow nicely in the shade, as will hostas. Fix the drainage and amend your soil with lots of organic matter. Not scrape it into the top, but double dig it. Remove a foot of soil. Then dig down another foot and add lots of compost, composted manure or peat. This is where your extension agent can help with local soil conditions....See MoreHELP!: Home office looking like doctor's office!
Comments (5)What about an adjustable table base that you can attach a nice top to? Could be nice wood or marble or granite, copper tray, etc, either square, rectangle or circle? https://tablebases.com/lift-base-black-stainless-steel-table-base-adjustable-height eta: oops not rollable...similar with a cheap top that you could replace: This is on $55 on the big river: adjustable half moon...See MoreVanessa Gajewski
