How did you decorate your large kitchen wall spaces? (pics)
Comments (1)I don't have pics, but a girlfriend of mine has a similar wall layout. She has a tall plant/tree grouping at the tallest corner (hers is wood so slightly different aesthetic). One of her walls continues straight from the corner, and the other tapers. On the tapering wall she has a shelf mural holding pieces from her cremaware collectionwhite china collection (think Potterybarn-esque, like this. The straight wall holds artwork her son painted for her - kitchen herbs planted in white china tureens - with a few more pieces of the china scattered. Opposite she has a "Something's Gotta Give" cream beadboard display with white china. It's not my taste at all, but it looks very pleasant in her space. I'll see her this weekend, but no promises that I will remember my camera. :)...See MoreHow do I decorate this uneven wall space?
Comments (7)This is what I did in our TV room. Dear other half installed (evenly) wall speakers here just like yours. I tried the obscuring route with a floor lamp and oddly placed plant, but those didn't work and the point is not to block sound waves with anything in front of them, but since the speakers had a magnetic fabric face on them, I just removed those and I hung three velvet curtain panels from floor to ceiling. I love the way the room feels with this effect too, just right for a TV room, though it probably would be good for other rooms as well....See MoreHow would you decorate this extra long awkward area?
Comments (6)Actually the beam is no lower than the headers of the doorways. It looks like it's wrapped in drywall so you may be able to make it a bit smaller depending upon how they framed over it, but it the absence of something like that I think I would paint it either the ceiling color or the wall color and ignore it....See MoreExtra Long Curtain Road to hang drapes -- Over 255" -- How do I do it?
Comments (5)I have a bank of windows that is 38' feet long. We used conduit pipe and conduit connectors to span the distance. Ours is 1/2" diameter. (Don't remember if that's inside or outside diameter.) Also used curtain rod brackets at each connection joint, plus more, spaced as needed. Combined with "C" rings, so the drapes can clear the brackets. Electrical conduit is available in several sizes in 10' and 20' lengths Clean thoroughly, spray with a bonding primer, and then with Rustoleum in your preferred finish....See Morepartim
