Comments (16)That far wall is just painted an ugly copper like color, i prefer to drywall it up, there are no doors on that wall, it doesnt go to anywhere. The front door is that wood door where the boxes are in the picture. That is a swimming pool outside of those patio doors, that area is where the dining room will be though. Those sliding glass doors will be french door sliding doors soon. I would like to make the space a more formal living area, I do like the idea of a bar and then 4 chairs with a cocktail table in the middle, should I also maybe included a rug in the space? The problem that I'm having is how to actually layout the formal space, meaning where do I place everything in the room so that it looks clean, modern, and not out of place. The new front door will be white with glass, when that is installed the door that will open will be further away from the copper looking wall and the doors open outward not into the house, so maybe I should put some type of long modern buffet type piece against that copper looking wall?...See MoreHow do I decorate this awkward space?
Comments (3)I would remove the cabinet and not put another in its place (maybe a tall plant instead); different artwork to coordinate with the dining space; and, agree that a bench would look great in front of the windows and it will be functional, too. A rug under the table (with coordinating runner in front of the bench) and roman blinds in the eating nook would tie the whole space together well......See MoreHELP! Comments (15)Btw, in my second comment pics above - just was showing the darker tan cushion color - a couple of examples. Was not necessarily suggesting lime green pillows, etc. Although you do have a range of colors you could incorporate/with various possibilities I would go with your core colors, the tan and black - and use mostly tan on cushions in seating areas, with some white/off white on cushions where it might be possible - as well as some throw cushions with white, black or both + terra Cotta accents, as I showed in my initial comment. Just to again show general idea and some black and white accenting. and lots of terra-cotta ideas above. And I think a shade of blue on umbrellas could be nice....See MoreHow do I decorate or minimize my big fat garage exterior wall?
Comments (5)I think both jck910 and Sammie J have excellent points. For some reason the gable above your garage and your other front facing gable look unfinished to me. Consider a modification of the roof line like the one below on the front facing gable where you have the finished roof line and the window. A window that would coordinate with your other windows. Just posting the insp pic below for concept of the window and roofline modifications. I'm not a designer or architect, just going by what I would do. Hopefully you get other input....See More- 3 years agolast modified: 3 years ago
