Ideas for Entry way Plant needed
Comments (6)Hello, it really depends on where you live (what zone) how much light it gets whether all day, early in the day or all day, etc.... you might look in to a dwarf pygmy tree or consider a little color and get a taller planter with a decent diameter and relocate this planter. Something like this would be very pretty and give some color....See Moreneed a large modern entry chandelier! any ideas?

Comments (5)It's a fact ... you'll not be able to get rid of the mess until you create a permanent, hard walk where there is now mulch. The magnolia roots are going to make it harder, but it must be done if there is to be a cure. I agree with others that something like concrete (simplest and cheapest) or pavers/brick are suitable. A walk laid out to acknowledge the tree will look and work better than one that doesn't. The bench only makes sense if there is a way to get to it ... i.e., use it. But because of Magnolia roots, it would add a lot of difficulty extending the walk to the bench. Therefore, I'd recommend using the bench elsewhere and having only plantings at the front of the house. Consider using a groundcover like Asiatic Jasmine to cover the magnolia roots....See MoreNeed help with ideas for large, tall niche in entryway
Comments (7)@marys235 - yes, that’s exactly what I mean! If the Vase is that narrow, your “gallery” of various smaller size of arts could be extended down the full length of the niche. Place the vase & experiment with paper cutouts to help visualize the look. If you have small paintings or pieces you could place them too for a better visual. The vase color & style as well as your decor would determine what kinds of frames & art you hang there. I’d use 3M Command strips for hanging since the pieces would be lightweight & that would give you flexibility to move the pieces around without making a dartboard out of the wall! 🙂. At the very least, my suggestion is probably the easiest to implement and will help you decide if you like the result or instead want to have shelving or another permanent change to the niche construction. And hey, if sometime down the road you see a piece that you fall in love with & that fills the space - well, you have the option to buy it!...See Morepdedona
