A health question - CPAP
Comments (24)Hi Brenda, How nice of you to ask! I had a HIDA scan and it showed that my gallbladder was fine, so that's not causing problems. I've had labs drawn and they are normal. Next is a new ENT on Monday, to find out if I have an inner/middle ear problem. The nausea and dizziness are doing better, but now my ears and sinuses are acting up! I tried my CPAP again a couple days ago and woke up with horrible pressure in my forehead and a headache. So I don't know what the heck's going on. All this might be because of the weirdness that my fibromyalgia causes. But it sure sends me on alot of wild goose chases! I actually found an internet site today that talked about how CPAP can cause problems.......but I don't know if this ENT will agree. I'm hoping I have an infection that can get cleared up, and then I can use my CPAP again. I'd hate to think I have to be tired the rest of my life! I hope its not cancer from the radium treatments I had when I was little. Don't ask me why I had them. It was sort of one of those fad things back then. :( Are you sorry you asked yet? lol! Thanks Brenda!...See Morestill waiting for my credit from sears!!

Comments (10)The second part of your sleep study (Friday night), you'll be sleeping with a CPAP. You'll feel a whole lot better Saturday morning! My husband and I both have to use a CPAP. We've had them for a little over two years now, I guess. Like Clare just said, neither one of us can sleep without it. Hubs has sleep apnea and I have an "upper airway obstruction." We have identical machines, but with different settings (his is set to a higher flow rate than mine). When we have to fly anywhere, the CPAP machines do not count as carry-on luggage because it's a necessary medical device. The security folks will make you take it out so they can inspect it, but it's fast and never a problem. When I got the results of my sleep study, the doc told me that she was amazed that I could function; because she said that I never got any REM sleep. And then she said, "you're seriously sleep deprived!"...See MoreAnyone with a D-Pap machine....?
Comments (5)I just started using my C-Pap about a month ago and I love it! I agree that if you are waking with a sore throat your mouth is opening and you're breathing through your mouth. My sleep study showed that I sleep with my mouth closed so I have the mask that goes over my nose. I have my humidifier on #2 and the air feels normal (not cold). I can't believe how much better I feel now! I am so happy that I finally went for the sleep study (I stalled for over 2 years because I was embarrassed). The results of the sleep study showed that I have a severe case of sleep apnea. Yikes! Oh, one more thing, if you have questions or concerns there is a great sleep apnea forum on the internet. Just Google "Sleep apnea forum". It always helps to read about others who are newbies and regular users to their machines. Susan...See More- 2 years ago
