I do not see a clock and honestly you have enough going on with all the clutter without adding anything else to the space . I ahve no clue what you mean by hooks either .

Lose the clock, please! Add art, and the hooks are for what? Coats and backpacks? What is beyond the door?

Clean up all the counters and island, come back with pictures of the adjacent areas.

If this is a garage entry issue and you need a "Mud" space? Show what you have.

I wouldn’t paint the beadboard the same as the walls. Is that what you meant by painting the trim?

I’ll have to agree. You don’t need to decorate; rather, undecorating and decluttering is in order.

I’m interested in the hooks you ask about. Are they for hanging coats, hats, etc near that door? Or for hanging decor items? If for decor, I’d say skip it.

@auntthelma Yup the beadboard. I saw few posts online where the wall and beadboard/trim/baseboard were painted same color and then they had prominent center pieces or art

No to the doo dad hanging hooks. Clean up what's there. Too much visual clutter as of now. Don't add, take AWAY

I will de-clutter , most of it is me being a lazy bachelor and have stuff lying in my kitchen.

What about that wall specifically ? Do I replace clock with painting ?
Do I pain it ? Any other suggestions ?

This doesn't concern the wall decor or the clock but I might suggest adding crown moulding to you kitchen since the beadboard wainscot sets a very traditional vibe. Good luck!

Can you move the thermostat on the clock wall? I am not a clock hater. I love my big clock and use it countless times a day. But the one you have is not adding to your room.

If it were mine, I would have a big piece of art on that wall with, perhaps, a coordinated, smaller piece on the other side of the door.

There is a thing called wall decor......and it is art that appeals to you, and it need not be mossy gray.

Find some art to hang over that sink too.

You may want to spend some $$$ on a back splash, and lose the counter riser when you do that.

Your cabinetry seems MUCH more yellow toned than all your trim. Pick one white please, and paint. : ) One or the other.

Add some lighting over the island.Add more pictures of your adjacent spaces and clean those up before pictures as well.

On the clock wall, I’d look for a tryptic, a series of 3 pieces of art. Maybe landscape or gardening theme (because of your screen name 😁). It appears that might be a regular pathway thru the area so you don’t want fussy things interfering with foot traffic.

What I am noticing (looking past the clutter) is that the cabinets seem to be a much creamier (more yellow) than the doors, trim, bead board and backsplash which are bright blue white.

I would probably paint the bead board the same color as the cabinets, leaving the trim at the top of the bead board the bright white so that it looks intentional and not like a mistake. I would also pick a warmer, less gray green for the walls or paint the wall the creamier cabinet color.

Cream and white can be nice together, but they have to be balanced.

Maybe just look at removing the clock and putting a piece of artwork there that goes with the colors you have in your dining room and kitchen?
