IMO your house color is great & goes well with stone trim. Nice crisp white trim. Maybe you’re having issue with the change from what it was? Or, is this a new house & paint is original color? Why not live with it for awhile & wait to see how it looks in spring with some greenery? Add flowers in pots same color as front door.

As KW said, everything being green later on (and flowers if planted) will make a huge difference, too.

I hope you’ll forgive an off-topic suggestion …. if the mulch is touching the tree trunk, it needs to be pushed away. I’d also make sure the tree isn’t planted too deep.

If you want your stamp on it too then I suggest you repaint the door in a brighter color.

The house color looks great. I would do a brighter door color, I like the orange.

Is it currently Instagram-worthy? No, because the grass is dead and the sky is dreary. When the sun is out, the grass turns green and you add some porch pots with flowers it will all look great.

With the stone, adding another visual break will feel a bit busy.

The door looks dark in your picture, but close up I like its color, especially with the stone. I think once the spring arrives and grass is green and flowers are out, the house will feel softer. Hold off until then and see what you feel then.

Another no to a two-tone siding paint job. You already have plenty of visual eye catching features: three exterior textures-siding, board and batten siding and stone; plus multiple gables with wood accents, a shed dormer and high-contrast downspouts.

As I was reading I thought that first photo with the orange chip was the color your husband had picked and you had "allowed" the whole house to be painted in that orange color! I was imagining a whole pumpkin colored house!

The house looks just fine! No need to repaint anything. It also looks like the photo was taken on a cloudy dreary day, which isn't helping the house or your perception.

IMO it looks fine just do the door in the orange and be done. Add some more interesting landscaping with some color too.

One small detail I missed - I see the gutters are black which is good - matches roof & stays clean looking. But, my preference is that downspouts blend in & I just noticed they’re also black. I’d paint the portions that are on top of the pewter color & the white trim to match what they cover so they disappear. The black over the stone is fine. It’s not a big deal but gutters are a necessary item & not usually decorative.

The house looks perfect just the way it is, except for the door. It needs a much brighter more welcoming color on it. Your husband did goo.

It’s pretty - I would not change a thing!!

Add some bright chair cushions, or paint the Adirondack chairs a bright colour. Add flowers, flower pots etc in the same shade.

Consider using yellow/gold instead of the orange. Choose some eveergreen shrubs with gold foliage and it will look good all year e.g. https://www.monrovia.com/be-inspired/yellow-trees-and-shrubs.html And yellow flowered plants are more common than orange, for summer.

For example, if your chairs are yellow you could have yellow tulips and pansies in spring, maybe a dwarf forsythia. Yellow roses in summer. Black-eyed Susans which bloom for a long time. Yellow/gold chrysanthemums and goldenrods in fall.

I like it as is! Focus on landscaping and bringing in more color there. Perhaps you can add some hanging planters, container gardens, or get more colorful shrubs like azalea or hydrangea.
