Your Canvas - My Guest Bedroom
Comments (43)Hi, I find guest rooms to be the most fun to decorate because you can sort of make it your dream room that stays clean all of the time :-) I second Lynn's suggestions and would let them know in advance if you are going to have a hairdryer or iron in case they are inclined to pack it. I'm sort of a linen junky and decorate my rooms around my duvet covers. We're in New England so down is a must (and down alternative works great too!). I own the Sienna Paisely duvet and love it, however, when I brought it home it almost had a yellow undertone to it. I have a very neutral room so I ended up bringing in yellow accents and it looks great. I also own the PB Painterly Paisley in blue and that looks fabulous with beige/tan. You may want to look at that one as it will probably go with your existing wall color. I believe it's on sale now and I also tend to find good duvet deals on ebay. Oh and I would definitely try making the headboard dark!...See MoreNeed to find a blush/pale pink paint color for my guest bedroom
Comments (19)Sg-Beautiful! About 15 years ago I painted our living room a rose color. Can't remember what I used. But it was very pretty in there. One day I had an upset stomach and got the Pepto-Bismal out, and I looked at the bottle, then my walls, held the bottle to my walls and it was a perfect match. lol So if I feel the need to paint a room pink again, I'll compare it to the PB color! heh. It was very subtle and light rosey. I love "pink" rooms! I think most people are afraid to use the color in a public area, but IMO, it's one of the prettiest colors for LR's, etc....See Morehelp with guest bedroom make over
Comments (104)Another option I don’t see in photos is to place the dresser on the same wall as the bed but on the left side. Dresser can act as a bedside table of sorts and will balance small table and closet door, which carries a lot of visual weight if it stays white, on the right side of the bed. Like the idea of painting door and trim same blue as wall... Like the chair best in corner by the window away from the bed. Also like dresser on wall opposite bed with chair in the corner by the window. A simple vase with flowers in it or ceramic pot with greenery would set the dress off nicely. Thanks for posting pictures for us to see! Great progress...See MoreGuest Bedroom - stumped
Comments (37)How much room is there from the bed to each wall? I think you have room for a chair in the corner by the headboard. Or block the door to the closet. Will the bed fit crossways in the room? You'd probably have to scoot across the bed to change the sheets, and use a duvet vs a bedspread but it would give you more options for a chair. It would be very helpful if you got a tape measure and measured the bed and the room, especially since it looks like the bed frame is longer than the standard queen bed. I would remove the door to the closet, get your storage items out of there, and set up a luggage rack or dresser with drawers so she can put down her luggage and have room for her stuff. Hooks rather than a closet rod. Many hotels these days have dispensed with closets and gone this route. https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/roadwarriorvoices/2017/11/19/hotels-get-rid-closets-add-other-storage-solutions/875787001/ If she really likes the dark ceiling in your son's room, why not do a dark ceiling here too? It's just paint....See More- 5 months ago
