Hainging artwork on wall next to pocket door?
Comments (9)We have a large framed, glassed serigraph over the pocket of one of our pocket doors -- we use the curly wire hangers that go in one small hole and curve around and back up to touch the back of the drywall. We use two on these. The good thing is that when they're curved around, the depth of the frame accomodates the whole curve, so nothing's touching the door when it passes by. Here's some writing I found on it: Another newcomer to picture hanging is a curved spring steel wire that can be inserted in the wall without tools in a matter of seconds (sold under brand names such as Heavy Duty Wall Hanger, Hercules Hook, and Monkey Hook). While some brands claim they hold up to 150 pounds, in our tests they began to pull out of drywall at around 40 pounds and failed at 50, which is still more than most pictures weigh. Wire hangers are easy to remove and leave a small hole. However, they cost more than traditional picture hangers and will only work where there is not a stud or other obstruction present in the wall. There's a picture at the link. Here is a link that might be useful: they work great for us, even in the pocket door situation...See MoreNeed help selecting artwork that will compliment purple artwork
Comments (31)Thanks all. I did go with the Allure Blossom. It's coming today. I don't think I could go with a mirror on that wall because there is a hutch to the right which has mirrors in it. I really like the purple and yellow bowl from Pier One; will see if they still have it or something similar. Might be sending more pictures of my next dilemma in the living room. Comments (10)nice job! what a difference. The art you have hanging looks really off. It's hung a bit high, but the square shape just doesn't look right. and neither does the design. it competes w/the stone movement. you could try black and white or something very muted. this shape (rectangle) and image design, doesn't compete w/the stone like the other one does I'd leave it blank, or if you have the room to walk by, perhaps do a taller potted plant....See MoreIdeas to improve staircase wall with decor/art work
Comments (8)Hi. Design needs to happen in a logical order. So, I recommend prior to decorating that wall, you 1) Create a good floor plan. This one is not the best. I can help you with that if you tell me what the function of this space is and if there is a tv in the room. Finally, is this furniture staying in the room? Please post a photo of all 4 walls of the room, Thanks. 2) Find photos of rooms you like. What design/style do you like? Once you have those, we can then think about decorating the wall....See MoreHU-675849
