Your dining room is very stylish, though somewhat impersonal. The peony painting looks nice. Replacing the silver sculpture with it might break up the too-matchy-matchy of the silver accessories.

Look around for some forgotten gifts or heirlooms.

Thanks for the input. Still in the process of getting things in the room. Hopefully it will get better as I go. I'll start to break up the color scheme to get away from all of the silver.

Have you tried switching them? You might need to edit the items on the buffet, and then possibly add something more on the wall with the flroal. The colors are fine together, but there is a scale and space isssue you might be able to resolve. It might also help to hang the sculpture the other direction. The top heaviness give it an unsettled feeling -- like it should be tumbling or in motion. Overall, it feels unbalanced. So I would try to see if you can play with what you have first -- unless the sculpture can go back or you have another home for it an would prefer something else.

So first question might be do you love them both? I'm a buyer of what I like and then work to find bring them together/ I bought exactly one piece on a what goes with basis (I had a diagonally striped sofa) but ended up with B&W photos over the sofa and an expensive art photo I wound up donating.

Thanks. The purple picture does look good on the other wall. The sculpture was a son of a gun to hang and can only hang the way pictured (there is a bar on the back). If I get brave I'll try taking it down to see how it looks over the buffet.

If there is a bar, can you turn it 180? I don't know what the artist intended -- might have wanted a kinetic feel. I was wondering how you hang it and imagine that is a bit of a challenge to hang -- especially if you are trying to do it yourself.

If my computer is showing the colors of your paint and the proposed painting correctly, I don't like the aquas of the painting with the cool blue-gray of the paint (but I'm picky about how blues look together).

The first one is Alluring Blossom I. That was my favorite of the ones I posted, I think because it echos the shape of the orchids while being in a completely different style, and it brings in another, warmer, color.

Think I'm going with this one. I actually have yellow accents in the living room so this picture should really help tie the 2 rooms together better.

I'd replace the silver bowl on the table with a colored glass bowl. Any chance you could lower the light fixture? Pretty room.

Very pretty so far. Don't know the size of your prospective canvas, but I think that very light-background picture Cawaps posted shows that your light "blossom" canvas could look very nice, and that both the lightness and the warm blue could be good additions. The square piece posted also shows that square would work. The one thing I'm sure of is, of course, that the art--and the entire composition--should make you feel good whenever you glance in there.

I love your picture but I wonder if you should even be looking for another
picture. Maybe a different type of wall art other than trying to match a
picture to it. Maybe a mirror or put a mirror over the sideboard and move the picture to the other wall. If you're looking to change the bowl on the table, here is one I
bought at Pier One last Oct. It comes alive with color and sparkles when the
light is on.

Thanks all. I did go with the Allure Blossom. It's coming today. I don't think I could go with a mirror on that wall because there is a hutch to the right which has mirrors in it. I really like the purple and yellow bowl from Pier One; will see if they still have it or something similar. Might be sending more pictures of my next dilemma in the living room. Another picture where I can't seem to find another piece of art that compliments.

I think a white wrought iron or metal wall hanging would work nicely where your metal wall hanging was. For the table I would place a purple mosaic bowl or tray. I think a simple orchid flower arrangement (repeating the one in the picture) would be elegant and simple on your buffet. Move the candlesticks and other pieces off and the bowl on your table could be moved to the buffet. Good luck.
