Does this piece of art work in my room (w/pics)?
Comments (55)I love the first and last stripe! I like the way the line draws your eye up and the last one is simple enough to not compete with the rug or the armoire. the one I picked was tough; there were so many that had your colors in them at Horchow! That one seemed to go more with your rug (which looked red, gold and brown on my monitor!)because it didn't have any green, but in the end I was thinking it had a subtlety that might work. having all of the colors represented is probably your best bet, though- it definitely brings your eye all the way around the room in a nice way. IMHO, you can't make your walls look too tall. Drawing the eye up is almost always a great thing. And I think some height will balance out the weight of the armoire as well. but only you can see how things look in person! clearly you have great taste!...See MoreArt Work - Too Small for Wall?
Comments (60)Thanks everyone ... I appreciate all the help and compliments I received on this! The rug isn't new, but it was my 3rd try until I got it "right" You know I didn't even think to move the picture up a little, to cover the box, but I will definitely do that. Unfortunately my whole house needs to be rewired, so I will have many more of these type holes to patching paint!...See MoreNeed advice on Wall Art placement and Size of Art
Comments (16)@groveraxle I really, really like your placement of artwork with the four pieces!! Thank you very much for your input!! Would you say that the 2 smaller black and white pieces are 8x10 frames? I'm trying to figure out what size of frames and the 2 larger canvases are, so I can make this look happen! Also, do you happen to know where the floating shelf below the tv can be purchased? Or something similar? You made my morning with your help!!!...See MoreHelp selecting art for bare kitchen wall
Comments (11)Here are two framed giclee prints from allposter.com. The first Composition VII, 1913 by Wassily Kandinsky. The second is "The Gold of the Azure" by Joan Miro, 1967. I think it is a happy piece. Look in the framed art prints category if you're interested. https://www.allposters.com/-sp/The-Gold-of-the-Azure-1967-Posters_i10646280_.htm?UPI=F6C6Q00&sOrigID=116958 I got a reproduction of a 1932 Good Housekeeping cover for my kitchen from them and I am very happy....See Morelascatx
