Hey Amberley, Scrappy, & Bmorepanic (& anyone else in this MD/VA/DC)...we have around 30" here in Western Howard County. Drifts are quite a bit higher...the one we measured was 36" high! My DH just started slowly snow blowing our driveway. We have a fairly long drive, so it's going to take awhile...he figures it will take him at least 2 days to do it all! Our dogs refuse to budge from the porch...we have to push them off to "do their duty" on the snow rather than the porch! My DD tried throwing Ruby (the female) into one of the drifts...but she stayed on top and daintily walked down & off the drift! Heavy snow! But, we have a fire going and I just made hot chocolate for the kids (they just came in from playing out there-13 & 15 years old and still playing in the snow, I love it!), so we're doing great! I also made a big pot of chili for tomorrow and now I'm making pineapple casserole (me) + Roman Holiday (DH & kids) for tonight's dinner! Amberley, it sounds like you're making good progress b/w the demoing and the snow shoveling!

Thanks all! I ordered a sample can off of the RH site and will see how it looks to be sure. It says it has a velvet finish which sounds interesting too. Tink...thanks for sharing that photo! Very pretty soothing room...loved it! Brown eyed girl...would love to see a pic of your paint result. I'm a bit timid about changing the color...just not sure I'd get the same result. Will post a pic of this room soon as I need a little help with where to stop the painting for the ceiling. It is a small room and the ceiling angles up 3/4 of the way... I too have debated this issue. At original meeting w/PB, we had him quote the overall master plan. PB quoted with white plaster but gave us a price sheet with the upgrade-should we want to go with a differnt finish, SAM lights etc. When we got the quote back, we were surprised that the whole plan was in our budget to do as is. Now that sticker shock has worn off, what is another $1600 for quartz added to plaster, or $$3161 for sunstone colored plaster, or $4578 for aggregate finish? Unfortunately, we have other expenses, about 10k already not in the pool bid (fence, electric reroute, paver deck). Where does one stop spending when money is an object? Of coarse, my DH put it to me like this. If none of these other finishes existed, would I still love my pool? Both my neighbors have white plaster finishes (built by the PB I am using)and they are beautiful. My PB showed me photos of 14 different pools all with differnt "colors" to them. Come to find out, they were all white plaster. Depending on surrounding vegitation, cloud cover (or not) shadow/shade, sun location, can effect the color of a pool dramatically. We are going with white plaster afterall. If somewhere down the road I really hate it, I'll save up for it and get it re-done. If it is in your budget, go for it. If not, your pool will still be beautiful.

I have news that might take away some of the indecision about choosing roof colors. Lay a large color sample of sage green onto/next to various charcoal shingles. I believe you see most"work togeather",some better than others. Why? look very closely at granules in shingle and you will notice there's actually many different colored granules that collectivily when viewed from afar,appear as charcoal. While you are at it,compare various gray shingles the same way and I believe gray will "work with"even better. This is no accident ,shingle manufactures employee the finest color consultants to be found to see that their shingles look good on a variety of homes. If you found that to be fun,visit a ceramic tile showroom to see how different grout colors change the eye's perception of tile color.
