my new Stickley table---funny story and I need table pads
Comments (3)Well I had seen ads in the back of magazines ad. table pads so I got mine from 800/737-3150 Berger's table Pad Factory out of Indianapolis,IN..Anyway they also have a website and when I placed my order either the print ad or internet site was cheaper and when I mentioned it, they gave me the cheaper price. Make sure you get the upgrade to the magnetic lock that joins the two halves and leaves together so they don't slip around. Also, at the time if you ordered a second pad for a buffet etc. you could get that for $40 extra so I did. They will send you a sample kit with colors etc and they have some manuf table bases in their data bases or just give them the measurements. I also opted to get the bags that are lined on the inside to put the leaves into and I'm glad I did that too. Very nice company to work with. I'm sure if you google them you can find them. Good luck and that sure gave me peace of mind when I got my new dining room table 2 yrs ago and I'm so glad I did,,don't have to worry about kids or husband now....See MoreHelp me understand table pads
Comments (22)I grew up with silencers, and that's what I use to protect the table under a tablecloth. My grandmother's were thick wool flannel, which is nearly impossible to find any more. Mine are thick, soft white felt that I buy at the fabric store - I have three, depending on how many leaves are in the table. What they do is, they make the cloth lie smoothly and seem more luxurious, they protect against heat, spills and moisture (although I rarely put hot things on the table - if we are serving in the dining room, the serving things are on the sideboard), and they silence the sound of things being put down on the table. Tables get used, and they get little dings and scratches, and with proper care, those things merge into a patina that is more beautiful than the slick perfect finish they arrived with. In my view, anyway. If your household is not comfortable living that way, then it's the wrong table for you....See MoreHas anyone used pads to extend a table??
Comments (10)Annkh, she stores it in her garage. Ilene, sounds like they are quite sturdy and would work. We have 2 tables with folding legs, like card tables, with the table tops matching the height and width of our table. They're easy to store. We add them to the ends of our table as needed and when fitted with overlapping tablecloths no one even knows they're not part of our table. They add an extra 2 people on each side. If you're handy with basic tools they're really easy to make....See Morerug pad under dining room table??
Comments (9)Thank you so much. I have LVP underneath. It needs an area rug in general because if I didn’t have one my floors would be ruined!!! I have little felt pads on the underneath of all my chairs and when you pull them out it leaves and awful scratch and that’s without someone even sitting on it. I couldn’t imagine how my floor would look if someone slid out their chair from the table without some sort of rug!...See MoreHU-488551094
