Need Ideas for Layout without Foyer. Front door opens to living room

Hi there! I am looking for furniture layout ideas that would work with this open concept plan. I will be buying all new furniture for the sitting room. Would be nice to create a sense of a foyer somehow, but we are open to all ideas!. Prefer to avoid sectionals because that limits placement if we want to switch things up in the future. We will not have a TV. The view from the window is forest, so it is an ideal morning coffee spot. We would like seating for at least 4-6 people, the more the better. The blue lines are to give an idea for zones but it is basically one big space. The dining table cannot be moved, there is a chandelier centered above.

Extra Info: Partition wall to Railing is 15' exactly. We are keeping 36" thoroughfare as a "hallway". The stairwell to basement has a railing that is open to below, so it does feel larger than the floor space allows. Ceilings are 8'h. Having a second dining table is a must-have for us (we have the UB Bridgetown model) and will be used 3-4x/month for company, possibly more; The breakfast nook will be used daily by our family of 5. We also have a full family room in the basement with the big TV and sectional, so there will not be a TV in the sitting room. The window is 7'8" wide. THANK YOU!!!

My first thought is I wonder if you need two dining spaces. The breakfast nook looks roomy and it looks like there is room for stools at the kitchen island. Can you just have one table and then give yourself more room for the sitting area?

Unless you want to watch a tv from a dining table, you have zoned yourself to a postage stamp sized seating area. There is nothing that can not be moved....

"The dining table cannot be moved, there is a chandelier centered above." So that is wrong.

There is no need for a partition wall either. You define areas with rugs...

Put all the dimensions of everything on that plan above, add below and come back : )

It appears your foyer is just not large enough to put any piece of furniture there without infringing on the DR space. You might have a wall mounted shelf on the wall before the kitchen entry and possibly place a stool underneath it for seating. Possibly, not knowing how large your dining table is, you could orient it perpendicular to the windows, which could give you more wall space for your entry. As for the light, just make sure it is over your table. Don't worry about whether it is centered with the front windows.

That really leaves you with the current arrangement, replacing the grey chair by the front window with kid stuff and leaving the floating living space opposite the TV. I'd really look into rerouting cable so the TV can be where the large art piece is. It's not usually very expensive and will be necessary in order to keep your walkway from running right in front of the tv.

I'm back again...the architech couldn't make it this weekend to go over our options, but he did mention briefly that we couldn't expand the sq footage of the house, however, we could narrow it. He gave me a couple options: 1) close the front porch (4ft wide) to create a more "entry feel" like the suggestion above which i previously thought not possible....but how will this make the exterior of the house look when the garage and the front door align with each other? 2) move the door slightly closer to the stairs instead of the middle just like the suggestion above but my mom does not like this idea because of Feng Shui and also she believes in double door entry which can bring lots of good luck (can't say no to mom) Below is the layout of the first floor and the exterior of the house. Please ignore the second kitchen, that's another unit that can't be touched. Note that the 2nd floor has bow windows on top (we can get rid of the bow windows per my architech if need be). The arch windows on the bottom look funky i know--we are gonna get rid of arches too. Thank you all for reading, any advice is so greatly appreciated.

I like your rearrangement. Now for suggestions.....The coffee table is too big. I would like to see a round ottoman there. I would put your little mirrors around the bookcase...three to each side. Get a end table with lamp for the end of your couch nearest the dining room. Maybe a tall plant on the other end of your couch. To soften the room, if you want to, I would get some sheer curtains for the windows Also I would pull your sectional out away from the windows...looks sort of shoved in. Pretty dogs.
