When I searched this forum, a thread started last year by amylou came up first.

Yes, I need appetizers that can handle a two hour drive. Potluck recipes that travel well would be useful to me too. Especially meatless sides. I’ve never done a pot luck! — every large function like that that I’ve participated in required everyone to sign up ahead and identify whatever they were bringing.

or is that what you call a potluck? maybe I’ve done potlucks and didn’t know it. lol!

ETA: @party_music50, I think ”potluck” comes in multiple forms. Sometimes it means signing up, at least by course; other times it means bringing something without knowing what else is coming…could be 50 desserts and no meats. I think at one time in the early 20th century, ”potluck” was used when a guest was invited to dinner at the last minute, perhaps without Momma being told, and just taking whatever the family was having that evening.

The thread I bookmarked was titled "Suggestions for Pot Luck". It was just a few days ago. Someone included a link to a chopped Italian sandwich recipe - I bookmarked that link so all is not lost. However, there was also a recipe for a bean and potato? salad that a poster detailed. Anyway, the thread is gone. I realized it was missing when I followed up to see if any additional suggestions were made.

Juneroses, I'm pretty sure there wasn't a thread with that title in Cooking any time this last week. Have you looked in Kitchens, Kitchen Table, or Home Decorating Discussions? But if you bookmarked it and it's not reachable by your bookmark, it may have been pulled.

ETA - Now I recall the OP mentioning taking a dessert in the thread juneroses is asking about. I posted a pumpkin bar recipe, then salads were mentioned…maybe?
