Unfortunately, without a photo, we are just guessing :-) If it is not a common lilac (Syringa vulgaris or hybrids), then it is likely one of the compact or dwarf species. Miss Kim (Syringa pubescens subsp. patula) is one of the very few dwarf lilacs that develops good fall color. The other possibility is a Korean lilac, (Syringa meyeri 'Palibin') but fall color is nondescript on these.

Lolllll, at this time of year, I always seem to burn up my plants, so I like to keep most of them in bright shade. I'm also negligent when it comes to watering, so bright green with a bit of blush is what I get wit has this plant. I'm happy with that ☺ Yes, I do keep my plants under lights in the winter time. This year I'm setting up a bank of LED's. Nothing fancy mind you, I tend to be rather lazy & repotting, occasional watering & inorganic mix is the extent of my care. I haven't been at this very long, my oldest plant is probably 6 or 7 years old. My aim is simply to keep these lovely textured plants as long as possible. I have recently stopped replacing plants that don't perform well for me.

I can appreciate you wanting to keep this particular plant alive - I have plants from when my father passed away that I'm keeping alive. I think every 3-4 days of watering is too much. I water my peace lily about once a week - actually that's the schedule for all the house plants - but always check the soil first. I'm certainly no expert on peace lilies as mine hasn't bloomed since I got it but it's still green and growing, so I'm happy with it. I would cut the yellowing leaves off your plant, as close to the end as you can get.
