Met at college the first week of my freshman year. I had been exchanging glances with the fellow next to him, and gathered my courage to walk across the room to chat with him. But it was not to be -- it was the OTHER guy who called me for a date two weeks later. Been together ever since. Amazing.

Yes, Reader, I married him, 55 years ago last month. Two sons and five grands. Would I do it again? (Hmmm, let me think -- what day is it?).

38 years married (this month), 40 together. Best decision I ever made!

We met as very young children. I hardly spoke English yet. Reconnected while we were both in DC working our first jobs. Dated for nine months, engaged for nine months, married 29 years this past August, incredibly grateful for my good fortune.

I was a first time bride at 61. Had some great boyfriends over the years, but I enjoyed living alone and never wanted kids. Started dating my now husband in 2007, moved in together in 2010 and married in 2017. I love him a lot and am very happy. But I don't think I could ever have settled down before menopause.

50 years. Several of my friends dated him before I did. I wasn't at all interested in him. Then one of those friends invited me on a weekend group get away. She wasn't dating him then, but we drove up together. Got to talking, connected, he asked me out and a little over 2 years later we got married.

32 years this month. Met when we were 18. Married at 23. Have a daughter 27 and son 25. Would definitely do it all over again.

59 years !! Hes 86 and im 80 still having fun, we laugh a lot !

Together for 37, married for 31. Most days I would do it again. Lol.

64 years. Got married right out of high school. Had our first date on the 2nd of August 1958 and got married on August 1st 1959. Yes, absolutely I would do it again.

Going on 44 years.

We started dating when I was 15 & he was 16. We dated on and off through high school.

We married when I was 22.

2 kids and 4 grands.

Would I do it again? Yes.

Would I do things differently? yes to that as well. LOL

We’ve been married 40 years this past June, dated about a year before living together for a couple of years.

Would I do it again? It was the best decision I ever made. Early years were sometimes a bit rocky, but now I can’t remember when we last argued and the last 20 years or more have been pretty much plain sailing and a lot of fun. We always have each other’s back.

We’ve become that couple who are so on the same wavelength that saying the same thing at the same time is a daily occurrence.

Currently I have some serious health issues and as on other occasions when I’ve been very unwell DH is looking after me as if I was a queen.

Choose well, take your time, don’t get married just to have a wedding 😊

46 years yesterday (Friday)

We met April 8, 1978, engaged April 8, 1979, married August 11, 1979.

Last August we were driving from New York State back to Chicago and ended up celebrating our 44th Anniversary with dinner at a fast food place off the highway. We'll be laughing, TOGETHER, about that one for quite a while.

Sixty one years yesterday!

Yes I would do it again

He is 92 and has dementia which is getting worse.

Lots of memories.

Fortunately we were able to travel a lot after retirement.

42 years this year. Yes I would do it again. Yes I would try to improve things since we had rough health issues earlier on. Of course I would need foreknowledge to do things differently.

Always sort of envied people with long, good marriages. Never could make it work for me. But I'm a very contented old single person, with one short not great marriage long behind me which left me with a son, now a fine man with a family of his own. Glad I have that son and grandchildren.

We hit 35 years last week. We were late to the marriage game, almost 30. It takes time to get it right the first time FOR SURE. Plenty I wish would be different but since men are from Mars and women from Venus and we never learned our 'love languages' I guess it is what it is. To say I would want things different would be saying one of us has to be a different person and since I am very satisfied with all the other things--well the vows did say good with the bad or something to that affect!! Three kids with no issues, happy, self supporting etc. proves a life well lived in my brain.

Married 45 years, but I've known him all my life. Married the guy next door.

Celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary this month - we met on the Bicentennial. He's my best friend. No regrets.

We were married for 50 wonderful years. My hubby died 3 years ago.

Only 11 months to go to our 60th anniversary. Will we make it?

We'd met as children, our parents having mutual friends. We didn't know that when we met at a night school class in public relations a year and a half before we married at 23 and 26.

married for 25 years, divorced. we just went our separate ways but remain the best of friends today.

found the true love of my life a year after my divorce. together 12 years before i lost him to cancer. my current boyfriend has 4 legs. ;)

We have been married for 55 years. We had each tagged along to a movie with my sister and her boyfriend, who was DH's friend at the time. Things haven't run completely smoothly for those 55 years as we each changed and evolved over time. But now we are happily and with contentment spending our final years together.

It will be 41 years this coming January. He was an Oklahoma cowboy doc, new to our hospital there in Michigan. All these years later, he’s still my bestfriend . . . and I still get fluttery seeing him in his Stetson, jeans, and Lucchese boots!

First marriage lasted 24 years, I have been married to my husband now for 16 years. Yes, I would marry him all over again. He's the sweetest man that thinks I hung the moon! :)

We married in 1972 when we were 30 years old. it wasnt the best marrisge but it was okay He he was a good provider and we adopted two wonderful children. Poor man died from cancer just before hiis 65th birthday. i lived alone about 5 years and finally went on Match.com After 25 not very good dates i met the love of my life we had 7 wonderful years together before he passed away

I'm going to add in my in-laws. They're coming up on 62 years. They married when she was 16 (!) He was 23. Four kids, five grands, one great grand, every one healthy and productive members of society. The marriage has had its challenges, but they are still full of life and energy, and enjoying these years together. Love them dearly.

We met in January of 1963, my senior year in college. Married 58 years.

I am sincerely happy for you that you've had a happy life and marriage. My question wasn't about your 58 years of marriage, it was about having a wedding to someone you'd only known for 2 weeks. That's rarely done, for obvious reasons.

We are at 49 years. We were both 19 years old when we got married. (No we were not pregnant.)

Would I do it again? No, I would have taken my time and shopped around a bit. Might have ended up with him anyway ….. and maybe not.

In my first response to you, I asked a question. I didn't express an opinion.

Just because someone asks a question, especially a rude and invasive one, no one is under any obligation to answer it.

Perhaps not artfully phrased, but I fail to see the harm in the question. A two week courtship is unusually brief enough to where one could reasonably expect it to raise curiosity. If there was an uncomfortable story behind it I’d think it wouldn’t have been shared.

As for me, we dated a couple years, then she moved in for a couple more years, and then stuff suddenly happened that got me off the pot in a hurry. 😲 I think it works out to five years dating, 19 years married.

14 years. We are not married.

My father asked my grandfather for my mothers hand after 2 weeks. His response was to tell him to "ask her mother" (my grandmother), who told him to come back and ask again in a year, which he did.

In June we will celebrate our 50th anniversary. We knew each other a year or so before we got married. It was a long distance romance for most of that time. We are happy to spend our days together. iI was probably a little young to get married. He is older than me. iI would be lost without him. 💕

we meant when I was a high school senior and he had just joined teh AirForce in order to not get drafted. I was not yet 18 and he had just turned 21. We were immature children, but we have had a good life and raised a family and have grand children, a nice retirement. We made our way in the world, despite how young we were.

He has some serious health problems now and we are still here. 54 .years.

i forgot to add in my above post that we only knew each other about 4 months before we got hitched. I have no regrets and no, the babies only came years later.

Knew each other since 1962, married in 1970 so it’s 53 years….

We just celebrated our 30th anniversary on October 23rd. We took a trip to Ponce Inlet, FL to celebrate! We met, dated, lived together over a two year period. We have 3 kids and two of them are about to get married (12/23/23 and 5/25/24). We have a great life and I would do it again.

Met in 1980. Married in 1982. He was married for 13 years before me. His ex suggested he should adopt me.
