Unless you are going with custom cabinets or a custom sized fridge, don't drop the bottom alignment more than 1" or you WILL have problems aligning the rerigerator cabinet with the other cabinet tops and having room for the refrigerator. Standard large sized fridges are 36 x 70, and with a top alignment height for 30" cabinets at 83" (add 6" for 36" or 12" for 42" cabs) then you've lowered the fridge space to 71" rather than 72". There are some "regular" sized fridges out there that are already taller than 70", and the trend is for them to get taller. That's going to be a problem with lowered standard sized cabinets. If you are short enough that the standard height of upper cabinets is difficult to reach, then more planning for staggared height cabinets across the bottom is recommended. Have some sections lowered 3", and others raised 3" (for a small appliance section clearance maybe?). You can also use some open shelving underneath enclosed uppers to vary height of accessible items. But, the bottom line is that cabinets have standard sizes and clearances to all work together as a system, and creating a nonstandard aligment affects more than just being able to fit a coffee maker under the cabinets. This requires VERY careful planning, not just for the "now" kitchen but also for the kitchen owner 6 years from now that may need to replace an appliance or be 6' tall. That is why standards were developed. They work for a wide variety of the population with minimal discomfort to those at both ends of the spectrum.

I have an alternate suggestion. A well-built cabinet with a 3/4" thick back can be wall hung as long as it is bolted to the studs in the wall. In that case you would need no legs, and cleaning the floor would be easier. You also wouldn't have to worry about finding the right height legs, either, as you could just decide how high you want the counter of the vanity to be and mount it accordingly. Just a thought....

On the floor registers that I saw online where you affix tile to them -- their instructions indicate that the vent with the tiles will sit flush with the floor. The vent gets put in place first, before the rest of the tile goes down, and then there is a removable grate (so you can clean down there or fetch an earring that might have fallen into the vent).

quartz is man made from real stone, crushed and compressed with resin material. carrara is a type of marble. you can use regular cleaners w/quartz and most granites. marble requires a specific cleaning safe material. just keep trying at the fabricators shop or a stone yard. I'm sure every place has a 6" leftover piece after cutting! what are you doing for your countertop? any extra material from that? or, just see if you can purchase a ready-made backsplash piece of quartz. ( i think the big box stores also sell these) (check over w/their kitchen center and see if they will let you purchase one long enough. but if they charge you a few hundred for it, tell them to pound. shouldn't cost you more than $60 for a 6' long strip. they (home depot) have this 36" long threshold for your curb, but it's not long enough this is quartz on the curbhere too. In a pinch, just get a 24" tile in the white ceramic to match your subway tiles and cut a few of those. you'll only have 2-3 grout lines on the curb. use a schluter metal strip for the border
