I went on a date last week, yes, an actual date.
We parked the car and a young man in his 20's was walking his dog. I, of course have to comment on every dog I see.

I said Handsome dog! The young man said thanks and said "Handsome husband!"

My date had reached for my hand and we were holding hands and walking away. I turned us around and said, "First date!"

The young man was flabbergasted and stammered.......But you're so old!! 🤣🙃

I said circumstances change, and people start dating again.

We laughed all the way down the sidewalk. End of story.

I know, it stinks because I'm sure he thought I'd be so happy that he cut the grass (hint: this is the first time this year he's mowed). I was just this weekend thinking I needed to get some mulch around them to help keep the grass at bay; that might have tipped him off. I'll just have to see what the damage looks like when I get home, but I'm pretty sure I can definitely rule out any first-year blooms now. :( I told him that he mowed them over and he said, "I don't think I could have damaged anything. There wasn't anything blooming!" Sigh. I do have another flat full of foxglove, but they aren't near as big, and some of them that got mowed over were all I had of that variety. It wouldn't hurt quite so bad if I knew for sure we'd still be in this house next year, to eventually see them pull through and bloom. I guess my funny story has turned into a sad story!! :) I know one thing, either I'm going to do all the mowing from here on out, or there will be some kind of marking system for the new ones I plant out! I'm thinking a ring of brightly colored stakes. Heck, it might help keep the squirrels from digging them up, too.

Sandy, I bet Luke was thinking that is one heck of a BIG MOSQUITO!!! Ha! Ha! My dogs like to spend time outside in the backyard when I am there...and on many occasions my colhapso (cocker spaniel/lhapsa apso mix) flops down up under the citrus trees to stay in the shade...the hummies often perch in those trees and they start perch wars and sometimes end up dive bombing each other right under the dog's nose. She's so used to it...she just keeps on snoozing :o) ~ Cat

My favorite doctor story...I guess it's at work for him so it fits. I was getting a physical and my doc had me sitting by his desk, going through the list...any headaches? blurry vision? and so on, and I'm rattling off no, no, no. Then he asks if I have any heaviness in my chest. I answer, "Yes." He looks at me and I look down at my chest and say, "2 lbs, each side." He glares back at me and says, "I mean do you have any difficulty breathing." I was like, uh-oh, sounds like someone is having a bad day. So then comes the physical part of the exam... listening to the chest, the heart, palpating the abdomen and then he gives me the breast exam. He says, "Un-huh....un-huh." I say, "Is there something wrong?" He says, "No. About two pounds, each side." I was laughing so hard I almost fell off the exam table!

Reminds me of a conversation I had as PTA president with our new carnival chairman. I wanted her to be sure to come to our next evening executive board meeting to share and discuss her plans for the carnival. She explained that she was just recently married, a second wife and he wanted her home in the evening. He is an older man, 30!
