Your best performing hydrangea(s) in 2023

I think it is now late enough in the season that each of us can decide with certainty as to our best hydrangea(s) for 2023.

I'll start.

We have probably 10 different varieties of hydrangea in our garden. And by chance the top performing two happen to be permanently containerized.

First up Tuff Stuff Ah-Ha.

Ours has been permanently in a container for now 3 seasons (into an unheated garage come sometime in November).

In the spring when I brought it outside it was obvious that it had *completely* died back to the crown (unlike the previous spring when there was several old wood stems that had survived just fine.)

For a time I actually thought it had died but slowly and surely it put out new growth (on May 7 I could see signs of life coming from the ground). And by the third week of July it was looking quite beautiful.

MAY 7:

JULY 21

OCTOBER 10

Summer Crush

This also is its third season in a pot. But unlike "Tuff Stuff" above there was none or very little die back over the winter.

JUNE 5

JULY 11

Okay your turn.
