hmmm - lovely room w/wonderful appointments - yes, long narrow rooms really require some creativity from a decorating/function standpt That said - I would definately try doing mock ups w/whatever existing furnishings you do have I would try - 2 couches (small) or loveseats facing each other w/fireplace in btwn - that would delineate DR fr. LR A console table could go behind the far couch - cheat the one at far end (not dr end as far back as possible - as to not loose valuable space - I have long narrow LR - w/Fireplace in middle - large entryway fr. wow that view! I would: -move the shelving that's near the buddhist object to the tv/window corner and get media cabinet like beth h picked. They're both similiarly sized and I feel like it's odd right next to one another. - nix the stuff under the window- that's an awesome view!! it looks like you have some wire shelving and a pet crate? right now and neither of those are that nice. - push your couch away from the wall. Stick art on the wall behind the couch and some art in the left hand space next to the window. with the couch more under the window and the pet crate near the door (where the little shelves are) the view and the comfy couch are the focus, basically my thinking is that you have too many small shelving unit things and by consolidating or getting rid of some of them, that would easily make your space look more intentional.

@Elyse Thomas we mocked your room to approx dimensions with some minor simplification. we have some initial thoughts. in the following layout styled in Boho-glam just, for example, In this arrangement fireplace with TV is acting as a focal point to the entire room. Connecting 3 spaces at the same time one is your main conversation area which has ample seating, second is a small cozy conversation area by the garden door and third is the dining space. From 108 - 120" is the minimum space it will take. Use painter's tape to tape off the traffic path through the room and you'll have a better idea of what can be done. Take a bed sheet and "fold/tape" it to replicate the amount of floor space the table and chairs require. You can move it to all three positions once the traffic path is defined. That should help you find the best spot for the table and chairs. Once that is determined, we can add other furnishings to the alternative locations.
