need advice as to how to set up this living room, furniture ideas?
Comments (2)Looks like your sectional will work well in the space. The chaise side along the windows will be a perfect spot for a cup of coffee, glass of wine, reading or just an afternoon nap. You could add a pair of comfortable chairs to the side opposite the windows. Swivels would be nice for watching the t.v. or enjoying the fire but could then be turned to face the sectional for conversation as well. Something in a beige or camel leather would be nice. Definitely a cozy area rug. Congratulations on both your new lake home and your retirement!...See MoreNeed help with living room set up and decor!
Comments (10)Beautiful home and great seating classic modern seating pieces, which gives you a good start! Below is a plan which might work for you, as CDR Design above has indicated. All of the dimensions are approximate. If you would like to add dimensions and send back, I would be happy to revise the plan. This layout will give you a better flow and tighten up the zones. By relocating the tv and anchoring the main seating area with the new rug, it will delineate the function as lounging and tv watching. When you had the tv on the stair wall, the elevation of that wall is confusing and distracting with the entrance, stair, tv, hall to powder room. There was no place for your eyes to rest. You want your home to be inviting and relaxing. To add much needed front entrance storage, Ikea has simple tall storage cabinets. See link below. It can stay at the front door where you originally had your stand, but will be a closed cabinet. Relocate your wedding pic to the stair wall and put a narrow bench below. A beautiful bright color or print fabric would look key. The back area is the perfect place for a kid zone and the large lounge chair. Place a window seat under the window that will accommodate a toy chest under the seat and lots of pillows. Add bookcases on either side of the lounge chair, a small table with kids chairs for games, That little corner on the left is perfect for a kids tent. All the window treatments should be simple solid color (I like white or cream) curtain panels ceiling to floor, and full: at least 2x the width of the window and gathered tightly. TV Wall with art, mini shelves, and cabinet below TV Wall with white cabinet below and fireplace module next to tv TV Wall with horizontal wood detail and console below between your two windows Ikea Cabinet at front door Oval ottoman and various end tables Simple Curtain Panels - ceiling to floor Window seat at back window Kids tent kids tent - so cute...See MoreLiving Room Dilemma
Comments (7)I think it’s ok. If you get a longer sofa, I think part of main sofa would end up being in entry path. So I wouldn’t opt for that. How many people usually sit on the loveseat? You could consider bringing in a chair, instead. Maybe a swivel chair. But I think this L formation is ok....See MoreLiving Room TV Layout/Set up HELP! (not creative)
Comments (4)Hi All - Apoligies will post more pictures later today. The sofa is temporarily there, its the kitchen so its semi openlan. The x marks the spot where we would like the TV on a swivel bracket. Opposite will be a corner sofa. A guess more pictures will make it easier to understand. The white door leads to a small cloakroom bathroom....See MoreBeth H. :
