Posted last year about this time, but didn't get any bites (get it? bites? hahaha)

Anyway, the tree was labeled 'Celeste' but isn't. The fruit is very good this year (last year, it's first, was blah) - sweet and moist; about the size of a golf ball, maybe slightly larger.

I've learned that the time to pick it is when it is soft, about half yellow, and with the brown speckles. Stems are very short so it really doesn't droop significantly when ripe - but it does droop some compared to fully green. Has a nice rosy blush in the center of the pulp. The skin is thicker and firmer than my (supposedly) "real" Celestes.
