Pretty in Pink Eden climber 2015
Comments (264)I have this spectacular rose: very healthy in my no spray garden, very little die back and beautiful spring display. It’s a lovely gift you have given us @regtomerlin. Will call her Margaret Mae instead of PiP henceforth....See MoreNew Dawn flowers doesn't last
Comments (22)As New Dawn is the sport (it reblooms, unlike its parent) of 'Dr. W. Van Fleet', which was hybridized in 1899, I am not surprised that its flowers do not last as long as modern roses. However, it has been tested, and is an Earth Kind rose, drought and shade tolerant, healthy without spraying. So, it is probably perfect for people who want a rose which is easy on the environment, and still a beautiful climber. I had a mystery rose in my garden, and I was trying to figure out what it was for 25 years. It was growing in 100% total shade inside of a quince bush, and so only put out a couple of blooms a year, but they were gorgeous. Finally I rooted it and planted it in full sun. It repeated, a lot! It was finally identified, and turned out to be 'Awakening', thought to be another sport of Dr. W. Van Fleet', or of 'New Dawn'. It is WAY more double than New Dawn, and I am excited to see how it does as the newly rooted baby plant grows into its first Spring. Jackie...See MorePretty in Pink Eden in Houston!!!
Comments (24)Yes but I have this new stinking iPhone and have to take it in to get my pics pushed over bc I had to set up a whole new iCloud account bc mine became locked so I can't push my pics over myself. I'm so upset!! We moved here 7 mo ago and I've been through 3 iPhones ( this my 4th!!) and I lost ALL my before and after pics of all the landscaping I've done it's very heartbreaking!!!!!!! I'm super sad over it bc we have 3 acres and there was NOTHING here !! I've done a lot of work but no more before n after pics. I'm heartbroken!! I'm a little give me a day or 2 to go to Verizon n I'll post pics I tried messaging them to my new phone but it won't send :( bc my old phone, even tho it's on, I guess isn't activated anymore?? Stinks! Well I'm a little confused bc the rose in the pics above looks like boscobel but I don't remember mine having the ruffled petals or the golden stamens but I honestly could b wrong!! Boscobel is also known for its beautiful mix of color. It should have some peachy- yellow- light orange tones in its blooms which I also don't see in the pick. I do kno tho that with some of my austins, the blooms can vary some, on the same bush...See MorePincushion and Pretty in Pink Eden
Comments (16)Eden notoriously takes a long time to establish herself and start blooming well. At least, that's been true for a lot of us. I hope this doesn't discourage you, but 2 of mine took 4 years, but that 4th year was great with a huge first flush, then almost constant bloom thereafter. Another one only took 3 years and it bloomed non stop all summer. Two other 4 yr olds have never bloomed. If you're in zone 6 or above, you will have blooms sooner and more of them than I get here. She's worth waiting on, in my opinion....See MoreAndrea zone 9b
