Not sure if I told you, but I ended up going with linen cellulars top down bottom up in the master bath. The woven shades had too much of a stack at the top. And because the windows are so large they would be a pain to raise/lower on a daily basis. I've always wanted woven shades, but they just don't ever work out in any of my spaces! Probably a sign, the heat/sun is so strong here they would probably get so brittle over time and I'd have to replace them. The new home is 98% done. We'll probably be completely moved in within the next couple weeks. I am completely burnt out at this point so it is about time!! I’m in Canada and the townhome we just bought used “master bedroom” and ”second bedroom”. The bathroom is actually “master bathroom” too, though en-suite is more popular. I think “principal bedroom” works well, especially if describing short term rentals (where multiple couples might share a rental), rentals by you adults (again where roommates might be sharing), or multi- generational homes. You still want to confirm which room is the largest, but there isn’t a need to explain who then “master” of the home is. Random point- when I’ve booked Airline tickets for my son, he always gets the prefix “master” vs “Mr” on his tickets/booking. Hubby and I always get a good laugh, as there are definitely days where it feels like he runs things in our home! Maybe he should get the new master bedroom haha.

This tends to make homes less than desirable when you sell. The garage is unconditioned area of home and aren't included in the heat load calculation when the home is built and people often under estimate the amount of money required to do this right, to be able to make a garage comfort enough to be livable in. If you convert it and the room is uncomfortable you won't want to live out there. Then you find out how much more it will cost to make the room comfortable. It's a double edge sword. You need to think long and hard about this decision and find out true costs to do this the right way. Many times people think they can steal air (heating or cooling) from the HVAC system of the home, just run a duct over. But this doesn't equate to 'comfort'... Under extreme heat or cooling the system will likely not perform well enough and in the process makes the rest of the house uncomfortable to boot. If your house is too small, it is almost always the better way to add to the house. If you can't do that it might be better to consider buying a larger home and selling this one.

You may want to start saving inspiration rooms you love; it will really help if you have a direction. I would purchase the rug fist vs bedding and cushions so you have a style to build on. Be sure to use various colors, patterns and textures so it feels more interesting The headboard is high and I think art above each night stand would be more complimentary and use small brass lamps for a modern look. You could add the sign on another wall If you need a bedskirt, a more tailored style would feel more modern Dresser and tv wall - mirror, plant, chair, art, baskets
