I am having the same difficulty. I would like to put the fireplace in a corner (I personally don't like having the TV off to the side on the same wall. In theory I would like it on a corner, but my room is all windows on one side, an a straight wall that joins a hallway so I'm not sure how that would would. As for it being too high, my current plan is to get a very comtemporary low fireplace. Currently we have a similar set up and while the TV is a bit higher than I like it (maybe 6 or 8 inches) with it tilted downwards it has never felt uncomfortable. Hi Dee, Angc, Arcy and other GWs, I continue to struggle with how and if to place both a TV and fireplace in the same room. I also really want a window seat on the wall adjacent to the fireplace, and decorative display around the fireplace. You can see the room by clicking on the link above entitled great room floor plan. Thanks for the recent comments; your ideas are all helpful. Arcy, mentioned I should just mount the TV on the wall. Hmmmm, the best wall might just be the stair case wall. Then I could have my fireplace centred with builts-in for decorative display and also my window seat. Not having to squeeze the TV into the remaining space between built-ins and window seat could have visual advantages. The TV would have a 6 foot south window facing it in this location, so we would definitely have to do a low glare TV which I have learned are available. Not to sure what to do with the corner between the built-ins and the window seat -- any ideas here? Would this work at all? I would love your follow-up comments to this idea, please and thanks. Hi Houzz Readers, We have a situation where our TV is blocking a floor to ceiling window that leads to the backyard (we have 2 of these, so just one is being blocked). But we would like to move it to the corner next to it, so the window can be opened up. However, all the corner TV solutions we've seen are big, bulky and dark. Has anyone seen/is using any corner TV solutions that you like? Also, if it helps, we live in an Eichler townhouse, so we would be looking for something with simple, clean lines and sort of minimalist. (Doesn't have to be mid-century modern exactly.) I've attached photos of our current setup for your reference. We would like a small corner TV solution that holds just the following: - TV - Apple TV unit - PlayStation unit - Nintendo unit - Small speaker to compensate for terrible built-in TV speakers Thank you all in advance. I thought something like the following from Copenhagenliving.com might work, except my husband doesn't like the color and the style completely.

My TV is above my fireplace, and it's a bad spot. You have to crane your neck or support it to look up. TVs are better placed lower down to the floor.
