We had Silhouettes in our last Philly house and I didn't love them. Do people not like those wood slat blinds anymore? Have they gone out of vogue? I do like the idea of a fabric blind a lot. Hopefully we can find some options that will work with the paint color. So hard!! Graywings - the paint color is Wedgewood Gray - we've used it before (with wood blinds now I think about it) and love the color. This is the 3rd house we've had a Wedgewood Gray bedroom in. We're such creatures of habit. Lol. Here it is in our Hoboken house. Do you like it with these blinds? Or not enough color?

I like the idea of using drapes and thanks for the pic @valinsv and I will probably be stealing your bay window look with the candles etc. it looks great. Our living room is tiny and I have noticed that since I removed the vertical blinds, the room feels so much bigger than before, which is why I wanted to go with something mounted inside the window. Do you guys think that using the drapes will make the room feel small again, or will using the inside mount blinds, make it even worse? The drapes across the window will certainly make my life a whole lot easier. Someone had also mentioned traverse rods which I had never heard of. I have looked into them, but I am not sure if it is a solution I would like since it seems as though I will have to use the little hooks on my blinds. Has anyone ever used them, and if so any thoughts? Thanks for the tip on the handles, I will look for them the next time I am at Lowes. Thanks!

We are not window treatment people either, but have started to add some as we've reno'd/decorated a few of the rooms in our house; two bathrooms and our office. They really do help to finish off a room. That said, we're not covering our kitchen bow window, or the DR bow window, though I might consider something for the DR window at some point--just for the window panes themselves, not to cover the whole bow-unit. We used Hunter Douglas' Designer Screen Shades in the Roman Shade style (ours are mounted inside the frames becuase of our window style/frame depth). The shades are very clean-lined and range in sheerness. With the sheerer weaves/fabrics, you can see outside with them down and they allow a lot of light in.

Patricia I use to sleep here but the window treatment on the left use to match the right it broke and I didnt know where it was from to replace so I ended up sleeping in the 2nd bedroom lol and using this as a closet and a watch TV while I put my close away room eventually ill start sleeping there again. I had a friend coming to stay with me so I ran over to ikea and cut the motorized one (left) to fit the width and I was thinking of removing the one on the right and doing the same ikea motorized one as its very affordable. I guess the dilemma is that I realized while the ikea shade solved the issue I had with the one on the right (im too short to reach) it took away the solution of sheer coverage during the day the originals had Lastly to be honest I don't love the look of either it looks unfinished a little too commercial property and of course the fact that they don't match is probably only highlighting this for me The door always bothered me and I figured I should ask this community for their creative solutions. Its actually the brick exterior so that's why they couldn't match the height. I love sunny rooms I think it makes decor look better and I would like to add plants as I have SE exposure here Also! Thats a closet with open storage above not a window
