Look at Marvin Infinity with the Everwood interior. Fiberglass framed. Can be stained any color, or it also comes in white, is also paintable, and there are exterior color options. One of the best alternatives on the market, in my opinion. I recommend avoiding 'fibrex' products like Renewal as high end vinyl would be much better than that, if you like vinyl. My 2cents.

Try putting the vase with the red berries to the right of the picture on the right over the bookcase. It looks as though it's going to topple off the mantel. Please, no to the mirror and wreath, that's been so overdone. I like the left side with two frames on the bookcases, just leave them there and don't hang them up. The right side will be balanced out with one picture and the vase with the berries. Remove the clock and put the two candlesticks on the right and the one on the left, and let's see what that looks like.

Hi Rina, Glad you came along, it's some of your beauties above which inspire me to try this again. Thx for the confirmation of mix, that's all I've got, so I just did the deed w/ the last of mix I had on hand. Here's what I found. Lots of fine sand in there. Crumbling it all off w/ my fingers. Not bad roots it seems to me. Perhaps the nicest piece in the bunch. Gathering back together to pot in different mix. Was going to ask if I should trim off the dried up growth, but it all crumbled off while being handled. Then in my eagerness, I watered it in before realizing ooops, maybe wait a day. Too late, at least it's fast draining!! Gotta try & find it a window seat. Thanks for all your gorgeous pix as inspiration & suggestions, encouraged me to just dive in. Here's to fast draining mix!

I agree...lots of colors. The are pieces from other rooms in previous home. I don't care for the red wall. Walls were this color when we moved in. I can certainly paint the walls a different color altogether but I have the consider the rest of the house. My intended them was for a conversation/drinking room with chairs rather than couches. We hardly ever use this room but is at the home entrance. Trying to work with what I have and buy additional pieces to compliment. Do you think I can make it work with dark brown and camel leather chairs or should I start over? I was thinking a better rug would pull it all together. ??
