Comments (9)Nancy, I forgot to answer your question about Judge Judy. These are the first blooms I have seen. Last year the deer enjoyed all the blooms in that bed. There is a tree that is exploding in growth near that bed and I need to relocate all plants so they will perform better. It is a monster bloom! Mantis-I keep the plants sprayed with Bobbex through the season and also have Liquid Fence granules spread around. If not for that, there would be zero buds left as we do indeed have an abundance in the deer population. And yes, the cardboard/leaves method has made my life so much easier in maintaining those beds! In the far tree bed photo you can see the edges of cardboard in the picture-those brick are not permanent-they are holding down the cardboard as I am extending that bed.
